IGN recently conducted an interview with AJ Lee, in which she discusses her new onscreen position as General Manager, her expectations for WWE SummerSlam, and more. In the following excerpt, she discusses her role in the upcoming Scooby-Doo animated feature:
IGN TV: So you and I were joking on Twitter about the idea of “AJ’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling"… but you’re actually going to be animated!
AJ Lee: Yes, yes! And I knew that, and so that’s why I was like, “Oh, I like it…” But yeah, I’m so excited. We actually did all the voices today. And that was hilarious because all of us were in the same room, so you can imagine the hijinks -- no pun intended. But it was so much fun. Going into it, I didn’t realize how much… I thought maybe, “Oh, we’re kind of sprinkled in this Scooby-Doo movie.” I can’t really reveal what’s going on - I’m not sure what I’m allowed to! But we are so involved in it. It’s just this big, fun [story]. John Cena, Kane, Brodus, Miz, myself… You know, I’m trying to see if we can get something with me and Velma at the same time. That way, the universe implodes.
AJ also discusses her wedding with Daniel Bryan on Raw 1000 in the excerpt below:
IGN: With Daniel and the wedding, was it especially fun, regardless of the way it turned out, to have that be a moment for you – to be a part of a WWE Wedding, which is always a classic?
AJ: You know what’s hilarious? True wrestling fans know that that is a classic. And as someone getting into this, there’s a little mini checklist. It’s like, "Be in a video game, get an action figure, win a championship" - there’s this checklist of things. Then there’s also the “Oh my God, this would be amazing to do” [list] and one of them was a wedding. “Have a wedding in the ring.” I was such a Miss Elizabeth fan, and that wedding was so beautiful to me. I always just wanted to be her. So that was like my Miss Elizabeth moment, you know? Me wearing a dress is so odd to me. It was so weird, but I wore my Chucks underneath trying to make it more comfortable -- much like today! [Points to her feet]
But oh man, that may be one of my best memories of all time. Probably for my whole career, that will be one of my favorite things that I ever got to do.
