I haven’t been watching much wrestling lately, but I was looking on WWE.com superstar page and I saw no mention of the Cruiserweight title anywhere. Has it been scrapped or put on hiatus or something?
It has been moved to the join the inactive titles such as the Hardcore championship or European championship on the official WWE website. Apparently WWE is finished with the title for now. It’s not like this comes as much of a surprise as they haven’t done anything with the belt in several months after Hornswoggle was stripped following the McMahon/Finlay "child" angle.
I love the site; I'm on it all day. I was wondering, is there any truth to certain moves being banned in wrestling? I heard that the piledriver was banned after injuries to Droz and Stone Cold Steve Austin and I heard that the powerbomb was banned after The Big Show was hurt by Kevin Nash in WCW. So is there any truth to this?
You’re on WNW all day? Thanks for the support, we really appreciate it! The term "banned" is such a strong word, so I don’t like to use it. WWE tries their best to protect their wrestlers whether or not they only let certain individuals perform certain moves or they have them removed from the company completely. Vince McMahon hates for his talent to take unnecessary risks when they do not have too. One example that I can think of is when Paul London did a 450 splash several months back and McMahon told him if he did it again, he would be fired. So to answer your question there are moves that are avoided and some that are limited, but it is my understanding that there is not some type of formal document which lists moves that are "banned."
Does the WWE ask its talent to perform death defying stunts (I.E. Hardy's jump off the scaffolding?) or is the choice left up to the talent?
Before I answer this question I want to clarify something. While Jeff Hardy’s 30-foot Swanton off the scaffolding on Raw back in January was extravagant, there was a soft mattress-like surface for him to land on so while it was still risky, it was still a stunt. Nonetheless WWE will not force a superstar to do anything; however, they will try and persuade them to take part in a particular stunt if they feel the reward is more than the risk. Like I stated in the above question, McMahon doesn’t like for talent to take unnecessary risks, so there is not a single spot that is overly dangerous if executed properly.
I was wondering what the deal is with William Regal miss-pronouncing Umaga and Triple H's names? Is it legit or is it done on purpose? I find it to be quite comical.
It is part of his gimmick and is done for the reason that you mentioned - comedy.
