Making It To The Top, Big Show, Wellness, Underrated

Written by Richard Gray on Mar 21, 2008 - 5:11:21 PM

This website is the absolute best wrestling site in the world. It couldn't get any better. Rob Van Dam said that the formula to make it to the top in WWE involves politicking, kissing ass, stabbing people in the back, and holding people down. In your opinion do you think this is true?

Thanks for the very kind words! Yes Rob Van Dam is speaking the truth. The wrestling industry is a cut throat business that is full of everything that RVD mentioned. This business is not for the weak hearted and that is why you see some performers that get out of it despite having an enormous earning potential (Bobby Lashley, Brock Lesnar). I think that's true with most business though, everyone wants to be at the top, and there are a lot of people that will do whatever it takes to get there.

Do you know what WWE has planned for Big Show following his feud with Floyd Mayweather? Could there possibly be a title opportunity in the near future?

There will not be a title opportunity for Big Show in the near future, however, he might get thrown into a feud for the Championship. From what I understand Big Show will be a main eventer on SmackDown and will work with the brand's top superstars. Nonetheless, I can tell you with a pretty large amount of confidence that he will not be getting a reign as the World Heavyweight Championship anytime in the near future.

When a WWE developmental talent gets suspended, does it count as their first strike or do they have to be on the main roster to get a strike?

The Wellness Policy is the same for all WWE contracted workers. It doesn't matter if you are under a developmental contract or a regular superstar's contract; the Wellness policy works the same. One strike you are suspended 30 days, two strikes and you are suspended 60 days, and three strikes you are terminated.

Who do you think is the most underrated superstar in WWE today?

As far as the most underrated in-ring worker I would say Shelton Benjamin. He is a career mid-card guy but has better in-ring work than most of the superstars that he is working with. As for someone on the mic I would say Santino Marella. I think that some fans appreciate him but I'm not sure that they understand just how great that he is. Marella is one of the best talkers that I have ever seen. He is such a good talker, he can lose clean and still not look weak. It beats anything that I have ever seen.
