Big Show, WWE Extreme, TNA's Talent, Twitter
Written by Richard Gray on May 7, 2009 - 2:02:13 PM
Why is Big Show getting such a push lately?
WWE sees Big Show as a main event talent. He is a proven veteran that has paid his dues and put on good matches every time he has been called upon. Vince McMahon is especially high up on Show because of his size and feels he is one of the most marketable superstars on the entire roster. I am high up Big Show as well and feel he is one of the best big men of all-time. Workers like The Great Khali and Vladimir Kozlov give big guys a bad name, however, Big Show can work with anyone. I think his match against John Cena at Judgment Day will be a good match.
With WWE's new PG programming how does the company now define extreme? More specifically, how do you see their Extreme Rules pay-per-view playing out?
The definition of extreme in WWE has changed. Blood is not being used and based on some of the so-called hardcore matches this year, some of the risk-taking spots have been limited. WWE will still continue to do matches involving weapons and spots they consider extreme. I think it hurts the product, especially considering how bad Hardy vs. Hardy came off at Backlash. We all know Matt and Jeff are capable of much more than they gave us. However, Vince McMahon considers this an evolution of the business and unless someone can prove him wrong (by competing with him) I don't look for it to change.
How different do you think the wrestling landscape could have been if TNA had have been able to hold onto and properly utilize several guys who are now with WWE? Imagine the likes of Jeff Hardy, Kennedy, CM Punk, MVP and Brian Kendrick as they are now, performing for TNA.
I don't think it would have mattered. TNA Wrestling has been able to put together a very good roster of talent. If there is one thing TNA does not lack, it is talent. They have the older, established names such as Sting and Kurt Angle. They have great up and coming workers like Samoa Joe and AJ Styles and they have great in-ring workers like Christopher Daniels and Jay Lethal. I think TNA has more problems with properly marketing their product and booking their workers.
I know Wrestling News World has a Twitter account, but do you have one personally?
I actually just opened a personal Twitter account yesterday. Anyone interested in following me can do so @wnwdotcom or by clicking here. I have really enjoyed Tweeting with everyone and hope to continue see visitors add me. I'll do my best to keep it as updated as possible!
