Booker/WWE, New Main Eventers, TNA, Producers

Written by Richard Gray on Oct 9, 2009 - 12:06:30 PM

Do you think the WWE would seriously consider bringing back Booker T?

I absolutely think WWE would welcome Booker T back. Booker basically quit WWE when he was facing his second suspension (for 60 days) for a WWE Wellness Policy violation in 2007. Booker talked publicly about how he felt he was used as a scapegoat for the company Wellness Policy and informed officials he would be departing. Booker is over with the right people in WWE and I think he would be welcomed back now more than ever with the lack of main eventers because of the loss of Edge and Jeff Hardy.

I had a question in regards to why some of the newer talent & the guys who've been for a short time aren't getting pushes to become main eventers - guys like John Morrison, Shelton Benjamin, Evan Bourne, Jack Swagger, MVP, & Mark Henry. I think Morrison should definitely be in the running for a shot at either the WWE Championship or the WHC, as should MVP, Henry & Swagger. Why are these guys either being pushed slowly and/or placed in feuds that don't do anything to develop their skills & elevate them to that next level?

WWE needs to work harder at developing new main event workers, but they don't want to rush a push because often times they only get one chance. If they push a worker like Morrison too quick, there is a chance of him not getting over at the level he should, and run the risk of being a career mid-card talent. There are definitely plans for Morrison and Jack Swagger to be future main eventers. MVP is also someone company management is high up on when his attitude is in check. Mark Henry has been given a chance to work in the top of the card before and hasn't been overly impressive. Shelton Benjamin seems to be stuck as a career mid-card worker while Evan Bourne might hit a glass ceiling because of his size. There are plans to elevate some of these workers but the pushes have to be done correctly to assure they are not brought on too quick.

I was flipping channels last night, and turned on TNA, which I don't usually watch, and right away it reminded me why I don't watch it. I know they do not compare to WWE in the financial department, but I also know that they are still a multi-million dollar organization. I just don't get the same feeling of excitement as I do with WWE. TNA just seems stale and boring and I do not know if that is due to the bland stage set, the poor mic skills of their talent during promos, or just their overall product. I know they have some solid in ring performers, but do you or anyone else ever feel that they are just the minor leagues compared to the WWE?

TNA is minor league compared to WWE because of the way they push their workers. TNA does a bad job of developing new workers. They also have people like Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara heading up creative when they have very questionable reputations in the wrestling business. TNA has the financial backing of Panda Energy and a roster loaded with talent. Their biggest problem seems to be more on the creative end. The reason changes have not been made is because the company continues to grow. As long as TNA continues to increase their viewership, it's hard to make the case for serious internal changes. My stomach turned when I heard they brought in Ferrara as we all remember what he and Russo did to WCW in its dying days.

What other members of the WWE active roster are involved in creative team meetings and production of matches? I'm not meaning wrestlers who have creative input in their own matches, more people who are multi-rolled like Finlay.

Aside from Finlay, Jamie Noble is a Producer as well as an in-ring talent as he often works with new workers in dark matches before shows to try them out. Triple H is the only other active wrestler that I know of that routinely sits in on creative team meetings.
