Christian/ECW, Jericho & Edge, Refunds, Regal

Written by Richard Gray on Jun 30, 2009 - 11:44:10 AM

I was just wondering with all the trades that happened why did Christian get stuck on ECW?

As I reported exclusively on Wrestling News World Premium on June 18th, despite being quietly praised amongst the entire locker room as being the top worker in the company right now, the plan is for Christian to remain on ECW for the foreseeable future. Some blame Vince McMahon's immaturity for holding him back because he left for TNA and became a bigger star. The feeling is it will pass and Christian will end up a top star on either Raw or SmackDown.

Were you at all surprised that Chris Jericho and Edge were added to the Unified Tag Match at the Bash? Honestly, I really wanted to see an Edge and Christian reunion, especially after Edge came out first.

We were told the decision for Chris Jericho and Edge to capture the Unified Tag Team Championship was a last-minute change, so yes, I was surprised. Obviously the move helps restore a little more prestige to the tag division and gives Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase an excellent opportunity to work with two of the most established workers in the business. The reason for unifying the tag titles was to create more action in the tag division and with Jericho and Edge going over, it does just that. As for an Edge and Christian reunion, read the above question.

Were tickets from last week's Raw really refunded?

Yes, WWE issued refunds to everyone that purchased a ticket for last week's edition of Raw. There was a process you had to go through to get your money back, but it was legitimate and not kayfabe. Plenty of workers were surprised WWE would refund ticket money with the weak state of the economy.

Where is William Regal?

William Regal was moved to ECW in last night's mini Draft. Regal's stock fell immensely after failing his second WWE Wellness Test last year. They may re-build him on ECW, but that is why he has been used as a mid-card worker on Raw.
