Copying Finishers, Carmella DeCesare, Main Eventers

Written by Richard Gray on Jul 3, 2009 - 1:48:51 PM

I was watching TNA last night (7/2) and I saw Jeff Jarrett use the pedigree. Can other wrestlers use someone else's finishers with or without their permission?

Yes, someone can use another wrestler's finisher without getting in trouble because they are not copyrighted or anything like that. However, wrestlers in the same company avoid using another worker's finisher out of respect more than anything else. If someone used the pedigree in WWE, you better believe they would get an earful from WWE management. As for Jarrett doing the maneuver, there is nothing anyone can do about it.

Whatever happened to Carmella DeCesare?

Carmella is married to Oakland Raiders quarterback Jeff Garcia. She is involved in the Garcia Pass It On Foundation and the last I heard she was pregnant with their second child.

Which one of the following wrestlers do you think is more talented and will win a world title first? Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, MVP, The Miz, Shelton Benjamin, Dolph Ziggler, John Morrison and Matt Hardy.

There is no way I can predict the future because as we all know - anything can happen. However, out of the names you listed, I think MVP is the most-ready for a run as a main event level talent. The Miz and John Morrison are close behind. Kofi Kingston is very talented in the ring but I think he needs a different gimmick to get over as a world champion. Evan Bourne will have success but his size might keep him from ever getting a legitimate push as a world champion. Shelton Benjamin, for whatever reason, is stuck as a career mid-card worker despite being one of the most athletic workers in the company. Matt Hardy is a career mid-card worker and I don't foresee him getting the opportunity to reign as world champion.

In my opinion without Eric Bischoff WCW would have never had beat WWE in the ratings! Why do you have such a strong dislike towards Eric Bischoff?

I do not have a strong dislike for Eric Bischoff. I think Bischoff had some great ideas and accomplished some incredible things by nearly putting Vince McMahon out of business. However, I do not think Bischoff is as smart of a business man as he tries to come off. Bischoff spent Ted Turner's money like a kid in a candy store without ever thinking about the future. He ignored what could happen and lived in the moment and as a result WCW suffered a miserable death. There will always be the question on whether or not Bischoff could have resurrected the company had he been able to purchase it but that is a question we will never know the answer too.

With the Hall of Fame induction ceremony every year, past legends are highlighted and some are truly gifted in-ring workers. With that said who in your opinion is the greatest worker of all time?

I really do not like to answer questions such as this because of how much they can be debated. I also do not like to show a bias towards a particular worker, however, if I had to pick one worker that I think stood out above all the rest in the ring it would have to be Bret Hart. Hart had the unique ability to take his matches to the next level, regardless of his opponent. I think the best in-ring worker currently is Kurt Angle who I think makes a very good argument for second best all-time. Other very good workers include Rey Mysterio, Bryan Danielson, AJ Styles, and I could go on all day. Now remember, I am judging based on in-ring abilities and not overall characters which is why I am not mentioning names such as Ric Flair, Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, The Rock, etc. I am talking about mat technicians that could make a living off outstanding in-ring work alone without a gimmick and without mic skills.
