Danielson, Work/Shoot, Hardy vs. Punk, Cole's Laugh
Written by Richard Gray on Aug 25, 2009 - 11:09:33 AM
Is it true that Bryan Danielson has been recently signed by WWE?
Yes, Bryan Danielson has agreed in principle to a contract with WWE. I haven't heard the terms of the deal but I would imagine he'll go to Florida Championship Wrestling in Tampa before getting the call up to the main roster. I understand Daniels is one of the best workers in the world but I would imagine WWE will want to take a look at him in their developmental facility before calling him up. I really hope Danielson does not get buried as a WWE worker.
What is the difference between a work and a shoot?
A work is something that is planned; a shoot is something that is real or legitimate.
I noticed that while you were covering SummerSlam you didn't write a Richard Reacts segment after the match. I would just like to know your thoughts on the match. I thought it was awesome aside the fact it was from the WWE PG era.
The match was very well done. Both Jeff Hardy and CM Punk worked at a high level and I have to give it to Hardy for pulling off such a high spot off the ladder. Obviously a match like that could have benefited from blood but with WWE PG, that isn't going to happen. Hardy and Punk put on the match of the night and the crowd ate it up.
What is up with Michael Cole's super annoying and obviously fake laugh? He's constantly doing it over and over. Week in and week out. Are WWE officials forcing him, through his headset, to laugh in these situations and he's just not good at it? Also, does it annoy you as much as it does me? Because it's seriously driving me nuts, and making Raw hard to watch. I don't ever recall J.R. forcing out a fake laugh.
I am so glad someone else has noticed this! I have noticed Michael Cole's annoying fake laugh and feel it only further killed the lame 30-minute Vince McMahon birthday celebration they did to open Raw last night. I'm not sure what the hang-up was with getting Floyd Mayweather there but that was a terrible segment and Cole made it even worse by howling at the dry comedy. Obviously WWE officials have told him to laugh because that was about as fake of a laugh as it gets.
