Divas, Sting/WWE, Warnings, Hardy Buried, Re-Debuts
Written by Richard Gray on Oct 14, 2009 - 11:48:10 AM
Do you know if the recent Diva trade on Raw will affect the UK tour next month? For example, will Melina be at the Raw shows instead of SmackDown after being traded or do the talent already have their travel booked etc?
As far as I know, Melina will be with the Raw brand going forward. All Divas that were traded are now fixtures on their respective brands.
My question is about Sting. I have been reading that he is possibly retiring this year and it has got me thinking about how much I would love to see him wrestle at WrestleMania against either The Undertaker or Shawn Michaels. What would your thoughts be on that?
The match would be awesome but I don't find it likely to happen. WWE obviously would be interested in bringing Sting in, but they would not want him to work a limited schedule. Vince McMahon doesn't let workers dictate when they work. Furthermore, I do not think McMahon would put a guy that has been a main eventer in TNA for the past several years over in the WWE main event scene. Look at how Christian and Gail Kim have been treated since returning to WWE. If Sting does decide to hang it up after Sunday, it's likely it could be his final match ever.
Since WWE has went PG to attract the younger audience, wouldn't it be wise for the company to show some kind of warning as to not try this at home?
WWE already runs warnings and have for as long as I can remember. They do not run prior to every television show but they are shown often.
Is Matt Hardy getting buried on SmackDown because of Jeff Hardy? Or is it another reason?
As I reported last week on WNW Premium, Matt Hardy is being told he's been kept out of a program on SmackDown to work off ring rust but it's really because of Jeff's arrest. Apparently WWE officials do not want him in the limelight until the situation with Jeff is resolved to avoid negative press. Obviously this could change but is the current reason for him being buried.
I really liked the way the WWE brought back Chris Jericho. In your opinion what do you think are the top debut/re-debut storylines?
There are several I could mention but I think the top re-debut storyline ever would be Hulk Hogan's return at WCW Bash of the Beach 1996 where he joined with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash to form the new World order. That re-debut storyline forever changed professional wrestling and was the beginning of the pro wrestling boom of the 90s and early 2000s.
