DVD Editing, Boogeyman/WWE, Steamboat, Tyson Kidd
Written by Richard Gray on May 25, 2009 - 12:05:53 PM
I got the WWE WrestleMania 25 DVD set and saw how Kid Rock was edited out. Now I know this before I got the DVD set because of Wrestling News World but what I do not understand is why wasn't all that done before he was at WrestleMania. Like I understand they probably didn't want to pay Kid Rock what he was asking for so that he would agree to be on the DVD. Why didn't they do an agreement and have a contract signed before WrestleMania. That just doesn't seem smart on Vince McMahon's part. Also...why would Kid Rock not agree? I know you can't read minds but don't you think its better to make some money then no money. I guess someone like Kid Rock doesn't really have to worry about stuff like that. Please let me know what you think? As always...WNW IS #1!
Thanks for the wonderful compliments on the website. WWE edits out musical performances as well as music from artists because they would have to pay a percentage to the artist for every DVD they sell. By editing out the music and performances, they are able to collect on 100% of the revenues. As far as I know they don't even try to work out deals with the artists for distribution on their DVDs.
What happened to The Boogeyman?
The Boogeyman Marty Wright was released from his WWE contract on March 4, 2009. Apparently they felt like there was nothing for him and it was seen as a cost-cutting measure. I've contacted Wright and am in the process of trying to book an interview with him.
Will Ricky Steamboat be back wrestling again in WWE or was that a onetime deal?
Ricky Steamboat works backstage in WWE as a producer on the Raw brand. He showed he can still go in the ring so the door is always open to use him in an angle again if they want, but for now, he'll remain in his role backstage. I don't think Steamboat could hand a full-time return but I really enjoyed his work earlier this year.
With the Hart Trilogy currently consisting of David Hart Smith, Natalya, and Tyson Kidd, I was wondering how exactly is Tyson Kidd related to the Hart family?
Tyson Kidd (real name TJ Wilson) grew up with the Hart family. He was the childhood best friend of Teddy Hart and lived with DH Smith (Harry Smith) at one point. He's the real-life boyfriend of Natalya and trained in Stu Hart's dungeon. Bret Hart trained Kidd as did the late Davey Boy Smith.
