Fans Leaving The Crowd, Hardy's Push, Spinner Belt, JBL

Written by Richard Gray on Jun 4, 2008 - 12:52:20 PM

With fans jumping over the stage and either trying to attack superstars or get their faces on screens in SmackDown and Raw recently, do you see WWE imposing "ban for life" for future WWE? Also, what are the Superstars instructed to do in that situation and if you were in the situation as WWE Superstar is, what would you do?

I'm not sure how that would work with WWE imposing the ban as there is no way for them to know who is in the arena. However, the idiots that choose to jump the crowd control barrier not only embarrass themselves but they are arrested and criminally prosecuted. I cannot fathom why one would get the urge to pull such a stunt as you are definitely going to jail if you do it. With that being said I do not know if there is any formal "crisis" plan that talent follows, although they are told to avoid contact at all costs.

Ever since Jeff Hardy came back from his suspension it seems to me that he's getting that main event type push he was supposed to get before his suspension (case & point his #1 contenders match with John Cena on Raw). My question is why is WWE still pushing him hard despite the fact that I thought he was supposed to be a mid-carder for life after his suspension?

From what I heard the original plan was for Jeff Hardy to be stuck in the mid-card from after the suspension forward, however, a lot of things were said when people were very upset and disappointed with Jeff Hardy. When Jeff came back, it was very clear that he was over and the decision was made that it was in the best interest of the company to continue the push him as a major player. Now that's not to say that Hardy is getting the exact same push that was planned for him before the suspension as there was serious talk about putting the WWE Championship on him and now that is not the case.

I was wondering what your thoughts on the WWE championship belt are? I think the spinner belt has long run its course and that it makes other superstars who wear it look cheap. Is there going to be a WWE championship belt change any time soon?

I posted full details on this in the Premium area last week but it's not really a breaking story so I'll go ahead and explain it here. Randy Orton wanted the belt customized to his character when he became champion and Triple H has been on Vince McMahon to change the belt since he became champion. The reason why Vince is reluctant to scrap it is because of how well that the spinner belt sells. I was told that the spinner belt is believed to be the third best selling merchandise item in WWE history. So it's not the fact that WWE doesn't want to give Orton or Hunter their own belt, it's a case of the company following the old saying that if it isn't broke – don't fix it.

I was wondering why JBL is at the main event level right now?

This is a pretty generic question but it is worth answering. Bradshaw is good friends with Vince McMahon hence why he was taken out of his announce position with SmackDown, transferred to Raw, and brought directly up to main event status. That is not to say that JBL is not respected backstage as he seems to be pretty over with the people that I talk too. However, I do not feel that JBL should be in the main event picture in WWE in 2008. It's not that I think he's a terrible worker but he is old and out of shape. I would rather see him in more of a role like Hardcore Holly where he helps develop a younger talent.
