Finishers, Wellness, Taz/WWE, ROH Workers

Written by Richard Gray on Apr 23, 2009 - 1:38:15 PM

What are your favorite finishers?

My favorite submission maneuver of all-time is probably the Sharpshooter. Today I like CM Punk's GTS, Evan Bourne's Shooting Star Press, Undertaker's Hell's Gate, and Jeff Hardy's Swanton Bomb. The Tombstone has always been a favorite of mine as well.

If Jeff Hardy chooses not to re-sign with WWE at the moment and returns at a later date will his two strikes still count against him?

I just want to remind everyone this is a completely hypothetical question as nothing regarding the future of Jeff Hardy has been confirmed. Nonetheless WWE Wellness Policy strikes stick forever and if a worker would leave and return, as far as I know, they would still have the strikes. I'm not sure if a worker that fails three tests and is fired can ever be re-hired on down the line but I doubt it.

Was Taz unhappy in WWE or he is just wanting a lighter schedule in TNA?

I heard rumors for months Taz was growing discouraged with his job with WWE. I'm not sure if it had to do with his relationship with Vince McMahon or if he was just getting frustrated. I don't think he left on bad terms but I couldn't imagine Vince McMahon being happy if he ends up in TNA which is what we have heard.

I've spent some time watching ROH videos, and I've been impressed by workers' performances. I also think some of them (Aries, Danielson or Castagnoli) could be successful in the "majors" (WWE, TNA) if used properly. What's your opinion?

Remember Austin Aries had a run as Austin Starr in TNA and it didn't really work out well for him because of relationships within the company. I do think Aries is a phenomenal talent. As for Bryan Danielson, he worked a WWE dark match several months ago but couldn't be offered a deal because he is under ROH contract. It will be interesting to see if WWE goes after him when his ROH contract expires next month. As for Castagnoli he has the look to be successful in WWE and I'm surprised they haven't picked him up. Nigel McGuinness is another worker I think would fit the WWE mold perfectly.
