Hardy DVD, DiBiase's Future, Nigel/TNA, Vickie

Written by Richard Gray on Oct 21, 2009 - 12:14:38 PM

Do you think it's a good idea for the WWE to release a Jeff Hardy DVD despite his current legal troubles? Should they wait for these issues to be resolved before they consider releasing it?

The fact that WWE is going forward with the project leads me to believe that officials might be confident that Jeff Hardy is somehow going to beat the charges. WWE shies away from any type of negative publicity so it doesn't seem like they'd go forward with the project if they thought he was going to be a convicted felon. Nonetheless the feeling is also that WWE would not withhold a profitable project under any circumstance given the current state of the economy.

Did you think they made Ted DiBiase look weak on Raw this past Monday?

The whole idea was to make Ted DiBiase look like one of Randy Orton's punching bags. Ted did a phenomenal job and as I was watching that segment, I said out loud "Ted is going to be a star." It looks like WWE is laying the framework for DiBiase's impending babyface turn and feud with Randy Orton. When DiBiase completes his program with Orton he'll be a main eventer. I haven't been as excited about a new worker in a long time as I am with DiBiase.

Why did Nigel McGuinness change his mind from WWE to TNA? Isn't that going backwards and if he already signed a contract with WWE, how is it that he signed with TNA?

I haven't heard why Nigel McGuinness changed his mind. The last time I spoke with him (which was late August), he was excited about the opportunity to work for WWE. Nigel had not signed a WWE contract but had agreed in principle, which means he had agreed to the terms of the contract but had not finalized it. I'm sure we'll find out but I am excited to see the program it looks like he is going to get right off the bat. If you haven't heard about it, click here.

You talk a lot about how "over" Vickie Guerrero is because of all the heat she gets, but isn't it more like people are tired of seeing her, than her being entertaining and doing this excellent job as a heel?

The entire objective of Vickie Guerrero's character is to make people boo the heck out of her. Vickie draws more heat than almost anyone every time that she picks up the microphone. Whether people legitimately hate her or she is drawing storyline heat, the objective of her character is still being accomplished. That's the definition of getting over as a heel. It's different from Great Khali heat, with fans chanting "you can't wrestle" every time he steps in the ring.

 DID YOU KNOW?
When Shawn Michaels was attacked outside of a Syracuse nightclub by approximately 10 thugs (actually it was by a marine group), Shawn was accompanied by Davey Boy Smith and X-Pac. They beat up Shawn while the others held Davey Boy and X-Pac back.
