Hardy/TNA, Wrestlemania Lineup, Blood, Last Night

Written by Richard Gray on Mar 9, 2010 - 10:03:12 AM

Do you see a Jeff Hardy vs. Sting match happening any time soon? What else do you see Hardy doing in TNA?

There are no long-term plans for Jeff Hardy in TNA because of his upcoming trial on felony drug charges. I am under the impression he is working on a per show basis rather than a contract based on his questionable future. Hardy's trial begins on March 17th.

What are your thoughts of this year's Wrestlemania card?

The lineup for Wrestlemania XXVI is one of the strongest in several years. This card has it all. They have a huge nostalgic match with Bret Hart making his return against Vince McMahon, a very intriguing career match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, two dream matches for the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Championship respectively and a stellar Money in the Bank ladder match lineup. Hopefully the pay-per-view does not disappoint but based on the lineup that seems like a long shot.

Hogan obviously thinks violence and blood sells. Do you think there are enough Attitude Era viewers fed up with PG and Hornswoggle to make TNA competitive with Vince?

Plenty of fans are fed up with WWE PG but I'm not sure if that's what it is going to take to make TNA competitive. In order for TNA to be competitive they have to consistently put on better programming than WWE. They can't just add curse words and blood and expect the people to switch over. I agree with Hogan in that TNA needs to capitalize on "Attitude Era" aspects from WWE to make TNA competitive.

With TNA's move to Mondays, I was very impressed with both shows. With this hot rivalry, both are forced to give us the best entertainment. I think that TNA's move to Mondays was very crucial for the company. What are some of your opinions of last night?

I still need to go back and watch the full tape of WWE Raw but TNA had a good show last night. It wasn't without its flaws but it was an entertaining two-hour broadcast. My biggest problem with Impact last night was the pace of the show was overwhelming and I felt like TNA was trying to do too much at once. The main event was excellent. As for WWE, I liked how they didn't give Criss Angel enough mic time to matter and they had some good wrestling on the show. The corny PG-focused stuff seemed to be limited in favor of building Wrestlemania storylines. It was a step in the right direction for both products.
