Hart vs. McMahon, TNA Overdoing It, Stu Hart, Contracts

Written by Richard Gray on Mar 16, 2010 - 12:00:25 PM

Why did WWE decide to do a No Holds Barred match between Vince McMahon and Bret Hart at Wrestlemania?

The plan all along has been for it to be a gimmick match - I first heard street fight. It's a good decision because it expands what they can do. Let's face it; neither Bret Hart (with his health) nor Vince McMahon (at his age) are capable of putting on an outstanding wrestling match. However, the gimmick match will make it entertaining. I also agree with Paul Smith in that I'm glad they ditched the Bret "injury" angle to further limit him.

Okay, I understand TNA wants to capitalize on WWE PG and their new policy against blood, but it seems like there is blood in every segment and every match on Impact. It seems like TNA is forcing the point that they are not PG by overusing blood instead of using it when it really would work and improve the believability of a match. It's getting a bit ridiculous. Do you agree?

I agree TNA has overdone it just like they've overdone everything else. I have yet to watch the tape of last night's Impact but the show last week was paced like someone hit the fast-forward button. TNA is trying so hard to be an alternative they are forcing it and it's noticeable to the viewer. There is too much blood and too much stuff on each show, overwhelming the viewer. They need to slow everything down to build the angles and better utilize their talent roster.

With Stu Hart being announced for the Hall of Fame, are we ever going to see Owen Hart get inducted?

I was recently told Owen Hart is going to eventually be inducted just not this year. Stu Hart is the face of this year's class.

Are the contracts they sign on live TV real or they just do that to put some realism to the angle?

I'm not sure exactly what the contracts say but they are just part of the storyline. The "contract signing" angles generally turn out to be entertaining as I felt the segment last night with Bret Hart, Steve Austin and Vince McMahon was very well done. To answer your question WWE does them for certain matches to make them seem like a bigger deal and obviously to sell the pay-per-view.
