Hell In A Cell Without Blood, Political Stroke, Lilian, More
Written by Richard Gray on Sep 22, 2009 - 9:57:30 AM
Do you feel there should be blood in any of the Hell in a Cell matches at WWE's upcoming pay-per-view? I feel it's going to be hard to sell three or four Hell in a Cell matches without color.
The use of blood always enhances a Hell in a Cell match and I agree it is going to be hard to sell multiple Hell in a Cell matches without color. However, with WWE's PG programming, I do not see color being purposely being added. Someone might accidentally get busted open but it's not going to happen voluntarily. It won't be impossible to put on a good match as Edge and The Undertaker had a great Hell in a Cell match a couple of years ago without color although it does make it harder.
I found it interesting when reading yesterday's Ask WNW with reference to Kurt Angle wielding the power in TNA and would like to ask if you think that there are striking similarities between Angle with his TNA position and Hulk Hogan with his WCW position back in the day?
There are many similarities to Kurt Angle's political stroke in TNA. The workers that draw the most are always going to have the upper hand when it comes to dealing with management. For example, The Undertaker and John Cena have a lot more backstage political stroke in WWE than someone like Chris Masters. This is not isolated to Hogan's position in WCW back in the 90s. Both WWE and TNA want to keep their top workers happy because they make them the most money.
Terribly sad sight to see Lilian Garcia leave -- say what you will about her in recent weeks, but she was one heck of a ring announcer. Do you have an idea as to who could be brought in to fill her ring announcing shoes?
The only person that has been given a tryout in the role is developmental Diva Angela Fong who is now on ECW. The last I heard WWE was searching for her replacement but no one had been named yet.
Do you think it is possible that Edge may be forced to retire due to his torn Achilles tendon? I know he is determined to get back, but I just wonder if doctors will advise him to retire?
It all depends on how his rehabilitation goes. Edge suffered a very serious injury that is career-threatening. I have spoken with people close to Edge and they tell me he is determined to get back in the ring. Because of the severity of the injury WWE did not give a timetable for his return.
