HHH Really Taking Over?, Praising WWE Creative, McMahon's Firing, Heat On Mysterio

Written by Richard Gray on Jul 19, 2011 - 10:07:26 AM

Is Triple H taking over part of the storyline or the WWE progressing?

The angle with Triple H and Vince McMahon is just that - an angle. It's no secret that Hunter and Stephanie McMahon will take control from Vince when he actually retires but I am one of those that believes Vince will have to die to retire. Vince is one of the hardest working people alive and I don't foresee him conceding control right now. I thought the angle at the end of last night's WWE Raw was intriguing but I didn't like how the WWE Championship Tournament seemed to be null and void.

Richard am I wrong in thinking the current direction of WWE storylines are genius? From CM Punk's promos to Triple H taking over, it's very interesting. What are your thoughts?

I criticize WWE creative when they deserve it so I feel I should praise them when they earn it. The recent WWE storylines have been outstanding. Sunday's Money in the Bank pay-per-view was booked very good with my only complaint being the fact they sent Alberto Del Rio out after John Cena vs. CM Punk. I would have ended the pay-per-view with Punk escaping through the crowd with the belt without risking making Del Rio look weak (I didn't like how Punk made short work of him). I popped big time for John Cena's not-so-subtle TNA reference last night on Raw and am actually interested to see what happens next week. Many of you are interested as we have seen a huge influx of traffic coming in. I was concerned what WWE would do after Punk and the angle with McMahon "stepping down" in tears is a great follow-up.

Last time Vince McMahon got "fired" during the Donald Trump angle, didn't WWE catch a lot of heat from the Feds and the SEC over the stock price dropping and other things business related?

Last time WWE issued a worked press release which led many to believe it was legitimate. I haven't seen a release yet so my assumption is that it is viewed completely as storyline and WWE learned their lesson the first time. However, I wondered the same thing as the angle unfolded on TV last night. McMahon did a great job of selling his "firing" and I popped for Hunter's lame "pop" comment.

I noticed when I was watching Money In The Bank PPV that any time Rey Mysterio went to grab the Raw Money in the Bank briefcase he got a lot of heat from the crowd - why is that?

I was surprised at the amount of heat Rey Mysterio got each time he made it to the top of the ladder and question as much in my Richard Reacts audio blog. I'm not sure why but the live crowd in Chicago did not want to see Mysterio win the number one contendership. Perhaps they were afraid WWE wouldn't take the shot seriously, however, I was all for the outcome of Alberto Del Rio winning as it was really the only outcome that made logical sense with Del Rio winning the number one contendership on Raw a couple weeks ago.
