Jericho vs. The Miz, R-Truth's "Pretty Ricky" Gimmick

Written by Richard Gray on Jul 15, 2009 - 12:17:06 PM

Is there real heat between Chris Jericho and The Miz given their recent "Twitter war"?

As far as I know the Tweets are just Jericho and Miz ribbing one another. When The Miz was first signed by WWE there was a lot of resentment towards him as he was not considered one of the boys because he came from reality TV. However, The Miz went on to gain the respect of his co-workers by respecting the business and working hard to improve his abilities. Now he is friends with the majority of the roster and the WWE office is high up on his work.

What is the deal with R-Truth's new gimmick?

Apparently the gimmick was inspired by Martin Lawrence dressing as a pizza delivery man in the 1999 comedy film Blue Streak. I guess Vince McMahon recently saw the movie and thought it was funny.

Hi, I'd like to know how WWE Superstars choose their entrance theme songs. Can they choose whatever entrance song they want?

WWE gives their workers entrance music as most of it is composed by Jim Johnston. Workers will tell company officials things they like/don't like but the decision is made by the company. Randy Orton actually wanted the music CM Punk uses and I believe he actually used it once before it was given to Punk. As far as I know, Orton is still sour over it even though I think his "Voices" entrance theme by Rev Theory is one of the best in the business.

Do you think if the workers recently released by WWE end up in TNA it will help them become legitimate competition?

No, I do not. The possible additions of Kennedy and Umaga to TNA certainly wouldn't hurt, but I think in order for the company to become legitimate competition to WWE they need to fix things internally. This would include developing storylines that aren't rehashed from WWE (or WCW) and marketing their product as an alternative to WWE. As long as TNA is doing the same thing Vince is doing then adding a couple of gimmicks (such as a 6-sided ring) they are going to be stuck where they are.

Matt Striker has been an announcer for a while now. Is he happy with his role or is he like how Randy Savage was and highly dislikes his role?

As far as I know Matt Striker is happy with his role as an announcer on ECW. I would think Striker would prefer a guaranteed role on television and pay-per-views rather than being jobbed out as an enhancement worker. Everyone in the WWE office is high up on his work because of the knowledge he posses about the business.
