Joe Swerve, TNA's Top PPV, Promos, Ezekiel
Written by Richard Gray on Jun 22, 2009 - 10:01:47 AM
I for one was shocked that Samoa Joe, of all people, turned heel at Slammiversary. Having said that, I'd like to know your thoughts on the surprise turn of Samoa Joe and his apparent inclusion into the Main Event Mafia.
It was certainly a surprise but it didn't make a lot of sense. The finish of the King of the Mountain match made Kurt Angle look superior to Joe. While that may be the case as far as ability, I dislike dirty championship wins at "major" pay-per-views. I'm glad TNA took the belt off Mick Foley but when you promote a match like they promoted their King of the Mountain match, I expect a clean finish.
My question is about TNA Wrestling's biggest pay-per-view. I am a little confused whether it is Bound For Glory or Slammiversary. While I know it is BFG, on the last edition of iMPACT!, Matt Morgan referred to Slammiversary as "the grandest stage of them all". Also, in the TNA predictions, Kendra Bunyon referred to Slammiversary as "TNA's WrestleMania". What's up with that?
Bound For Glory is TNA's number one pay-per-view or their "WrestleMania". The company views Lockdown, Slammiversary and Bound For Glory as their "major" pay-per-views. Morgan's comments on Impact were just to build the importance of Slammiversary.
Does the WWE give there wrest....Superstars acting lessons so that they can get over in there mic work better?
No they do not get acting lessons. Workers practice their promos backstage to get better at them. If a worker is going to be weak in a particular area it is better for them to be weak on the mic than in the ring. Mic work can be improved much easier than ring work. Bret Hart was terrible on the mic when he started and he worked on it to become very good.
Where is Ezekiel Jackson? I haven't seen him since he was drafted to ECW in the 2009 Supplemental Draft.
Ezekiel Jackson has been at Florida Championship Wrestling in Tampa getting more seasoning. From what I've heard, WWE officials like his size but feel he needs more work in developmental before getting work on the main roster. Jackson worked Thursday's TV tapings at the FCW Arena; we have results online at this link.
