Congratulations on a fantastic website, I'm a recent subscriber to WNW Premium. I don't usually subscribe to such services but I must say it's well worth it. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on Jim Ross and Michael Cole trading places. While it's obvious the WWE needs to freshen things up, I don't think they needed to shake up the announce teams.
Thank you for your support. Personally I don't like the move of Jim Ross to SmackDown and Michael Cole to Raw but I am not surprised by it. I was told last week that the company was heavily considering a major shakeup with their announcers and obviously they decided to pull the trigger. I know JR even stated publicly that he had no interest in being moved at this stage in his career so I do not know when he found out about it. Michael Cole isn't a bad play by play man but I just think that it lacks logic having your number one play by play guy and probably the best play by play guy ever on your "B-level" show.
Hey guys, love the site. I just wanted to ask are you guys surprised at how well the "accident" came off last night because I know many people are questioning whether the accident was legitimate.
Yes I thought that they did a good job of booking and selling the angle. They knew that they were going to have to break kayfabe to make it come off as legitimate which is why Edge (as a heel) went rushing over to Vince McMahon's side and they even had Vince call Hunter by his real name on television. McMahon toyed with cliffhanger angles earlier this year and didn't get the result he was looking for but he knew how much buzz the death angle last year caused and was probably looking to get the same result with the set collapsing.
After William Regal was suspended, Raw was left without a GM. Now, half way into that suspension, Raw is still without a GM. are they just going to wait for him to return, and then give him the job back? If not, who are the leading candidates for the on-screen role?
They wanted Vince McMahon to take over in the General Manager type role after William Regal was suspended so that he would have a role on television while doing the million dollar giveaways. Now with those over I think a replacement will be imminent. My pick would be Ric Flair since they've already brought him to TVs twice but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
On days of Raw, Smackdown (and ECW), and PPVs, what time do superstars usually have to be at the arena, and is it different for some superstars and also different for PPV?
I do not have the specific time (I'm not even sure if there is a specific time) but I know that talent is expected to arrive at the venue in the afternoon. This is when talent goes over their matches with road agents, attend creative meetings, eat at catering, etc. It is the same for a pay-per-view as they want talent there earlier enough to go over plans for the show. PPVs also make for a good time for the talent because the brands are able to come together and visit as one.
