Why do you never refer to Kennedy as Mr. Kennedy it's always Ken Kennedy, I know that was (is) his name but you still never call him Mr. Kennedy?
I am glad that someone finally noticed this. I feel like too big of a mark calling Kennedy "Mr. Kennedy" or Vince McMahon "Mr. McMahon", sure that is what they are called on television, but this is not a kayfabe website. We post news that goes beyond the storylines. When I talk with people in the industry I usually refer to people by their real names or nicknames. For example I call Edge "Adam" and Triple H "Hunter".
Your site is the greatest. I check it at least 3 or 4 times a day. I'm an independent pro wrestling referee. I have reffed matches of Festus's when he was on the indy circuit. He was a GREAT singles wrestler. My question is do you think WWE will ever split Jesse and Festus up into singles competition?
Thanks for the compliment regarding the site, it’s greatly appreciated! There is always a possibility of WWE splitting Jesse and Festus up but if they did they are almost going to have to have someone as a mouthpiece for Festus unless they change his gimmick. I actually like the gimmick where he "comes too" when the bell rings as it reminds me of something that would have been done back in the 80s. As for Festus being a great wrestler, I disagree, although I think that his work is good enough to keep him at the level in which he is currently working.
Hi, I read that Raven was recently released from TNA. I was wondering if there was any chance of the WWE picking him up. I think he would be a great asset, maybe not as a full-time wrestler anymore but maybe as a writer or road agent. What do you think?
I guess Raven was technically released from TNA but I just wanted to make sure you understood that his contract expired and they chose not to renew it. It’s not like they terminated an existing agreement. I do not see Raven working in WWE although I will never say never in this business.
With the ECW title being defended at WrestleMania XXIV, it is obviously a move intended to add some credibility to it. Do you believe the WWE has any real plans for ECW/the title following WrestleMania? Or do you think the WWE is doing this to save what little prestige the title has left?
Everyone understands that WWE’s version of ECW is not intended to be anything close to the original ECW so I disagree with your comment that the title has no credibility. The title is now used as the modern day Intercontinental Championship where they use it to elevate a wrestler that would be a mid-carder on Raw or SmackDown. With that being said I feel like that they had to have an ECW Championship match at WrestleMania in order to promote all three of their brands. I’m not sure what you mean by "real plans" for ECW or the title after WrestleMania, what is not real about the brand now? I think that you are under the assumption that ECW is intended to be on an equal playing field of Raw and SmackDown – the truth is, it’s not. The company is using ECW as SmackDown light where they are able to give newer talents (Kofi Kingston, Colin Delaney) and mid-carders (Chavo Guerrero, CM Punk) a chance to make a name for themselves in front of a nationally televised audience.
