Kurt Angle/WWE, Edge, Undertaker's Return, Jeff Hardy
Written by Richard Gray on Aug 6, 2009 - 1:02:36 PM
Could we see Kurt Angle in WWE again?
Anything is possible but I really do not believe Kurt Angle has another WWE run left in him. Angle is 40-years-old and is not in the best health. Along with neck problems, Angle has dealt with several other ailments and is currently dealing with a pulled groin. Angle maintains he's going to try a career at MMA but I don't see that happening either.
In the last edition of Ask WNW, you answered a question about Edge likely returning as a babyface. You said you thought it would be a mistake to do so - why is that? I admit he is one of the best heels in the business, and certainly one of the best in my generation of watching WWE (roughly 12 years) but many people have gone from strong heels to strong babyfaces - namely Triple H. Why can't Edge do this?
Edge is one of those guys that is a natural heel and based on the strong heel reactions he still draws; it would be a mistake to fix something that is not broke. If Edge's character was losing momentum with fans growing tired of it I may be more receptive to a babyface turn for him. However, before getting injured Edge was still drawing great heel reactions and was more than over with the WWE audience. Triple H is a guy that can work as both a babyface and a heel. He is a rare talent. Other workers such as Chris Jericho cannot get over in the same way as a babyface. Do you remember Jericho's return to WWE where, after weeks of build, he was drawing almost no reactions? Jericho as a heel is over more than anyone on the roster. I compare Edge to Jericho as Edge is so over it would be a mistake to try and tweak things.
When will WWE Undertaker return to WWE in 2009?
The last word I got on The Undertaker was he would be part of the build to Survivor Series. Obviously he could return sooner but it does not look like he is going to work SummerSlam.
Hypothetically speaking, if Jeff Hardy does leave WWE after SummerSlam, are we looking at him being back by late 2010? Or is this a more permanent leave?
If Jeff Hardy does what many expect him to do and leaves after SummerSlam, the feeling is he will be back. Obviously this is subject to change and depends on numerous things but the consensus seems to be he'll take several months (possibly up to a year) off and come back.
