Lashley, Changes In TNA, Kendrick, Edge's Future

Written by Richard Gray on Jul 21, 2009 - 3:05:38 PM

Now that Bobby Lashley has signed with TNA do you think the company will push him over a lot of their original stars?

Given the track record of TNA creative I think they are going to keep the ex-WWE guys at the top of the card at any cost. I do not foresee Lashley going out and jobbing to people like Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, etc. Lashley signed with TNA to keep himself in the public spotlight while he pursues a career in MMA. With TNA only taping TVs once a month and travel being limited, the company offered him a very good opportunity to keep his name out there. I do not think Lashley is going to go out and build other names up when the primary reason he signed with the company was to make himself a bigger star.

My question is if TNA continues on the path that they are currently on without changing things how long do you see them lasting?

The strange thing about TNA is while the product might be the worst it's ever been, their viewership continues to grow. Impact's ratings are still steady and they continue to grow as a company. The company is not going to change anything as long as they are increasing their fan base and producing pay-per-view buys.

My question popped in my head after watching The Brian Kendrick lose to Jerry Lawler on Raw last night. I was wondering how he is regarded backstage?

Brian Kendrick's stock has been up and down with WWE management. Vince McMahon is known for using workers that are similar to Kendrick's size in enhancement roles. However, Kendrick was able to garner enough support last year on SmackDown to get a brief role in the main event picture. His stock has since fallen, including a string of failed marijuana tests (which do not include a suspension, just a $1000 fine for every test failed), that have left him working where he currently is on the Raw roster.

What is the latest on Edge?

Edge is resting comfortably at his home, rehabbing his torn Achilles tendon. As I reported on Wrestling News World Premium last week, Edge truly believes he is going to be able to come back after undergoing successful injury. No time table has been set for his return as the feeling is it is going to be several months but he is determined to get back in the ring.
