My WNW premium membership was money well invested! Here's my question: we all saw for a while now the « new and improved » Shark Boy, having the Stone Cold gimmick. I know that gimmick is just another weird TNA angle and we all see Shark Boy as a mid-carder, or even a jobber, so it is clear TNA is not using this angle to « challenge » WWE. I was wondering if WWE could take some type of legal measures over TNA since Shark Boy is having the same catch phrases and (almost) ring entrance theme?
While I'm not a lawyer and do not understand the specifics of trademark/copyright laws, I would think that it would be a tough case. Since TNA doesn't use any of the specific WWE trademarks, I guess WWE could make the argument that the character is confusingly similar to one of their trademarked gimmicks, but it would probably be more of a legal headache than anything else. WWE doesn't see TNA as a threat - plain and simple. Now if it were WCW, I guarantee you they would try and end the gimmick as WWF and WCW stayed in a legal war throughout the nineties. Thanks for your support of WNW; I'm glad that you are enjoying your premium membership!
I was just wanting to know if is there backstage heat on Elijah Burke?
I posted a lengthy premium update on Elijah Burke last week. A lot of people have asked if there is heat on him given how the company built him up only to have him job last week to Festus, however, there is no heat on Burke. The feeling backstage in WWE is that he is simply not ready for a big time push in the company. He is said to be well liked and the overall feeling towards him is that he has a bright future in the company.
Love the site! I wanted to know if you see Matt Hardy making a run at the United States Title or even the World Heavyweight Championship when he returns. Believe it or not, I have always hoped for an Undertaker/Matt Hardy match for the World Title at WrestleMania.
The plan right now is for Matt Hardy to continue his feud with US Champion MVP upon his return to television. Hardy has been working with MVP since returning to WWE on the road a couple of weeks ago. He faced MVP in two house show matches this weekend. If Hardy is physically able to compete I could see WWE adding him as the eighth participant in the WrestleMania Money in the Bank ladder match. I know that the company has said that John Morrison is the "final entrant" but I still think that it is possible for Hardy to be added as a surprise entrant since he hasn't technically returned to WWE since he has not been on television. I think Matt Hardy is more than worthy of a World Championship run but who knows if he'll ever get it.
With all the things that have just happened to Jeff Hardy, do you think that we will ever see Jeff Hardy back in the WWE?
I am hopeful that Jeff Hardy will get things together and be able to return to WWE, however, it would not surprise me if he quit. I just hope that Hardy is able to get his personal situations straight first because his overall well-being is more important than his wrestling career. From a personal standpoint I'd rather see him end up in TNA if WWE is not going to return him to main event status when/if he returns.
