Morgan & Styles, Titles, Cena's Blade, Daniels
Written by Richard Gray on Oct 6, 2009 - 10:47:52 AM
With both Matt Morgan and AJ Styles signing contract extensions, don't you think either would jump ship to the WWE if they are offered a better deal?
It looks like TNA is trying to keep that from happening, by locking them down and showing them they are in the company's long-term plans. Matt Morgan has been in WWE before and is now primed to have a lengthy run as a top worker in TNA. Styles has always been one of the guys under the "TNA forever" mentality so I think it would be harder for WWE to convince him to leave. Anything is possible, but it looks like they are TNA's top guys for the foreseeable future.
Do you believe that the multiple world title changes lately in WWE on new pay-per-views like Bragging Rights and Hell in a Cell have been done to legitimize and make these new pay per views newsworthy?
That could be some of the reasons but I think there has been an initiative to change the titles more often to keep fans under the impression "anything can happen." I think lengthy title runs are better because they help legitimize the titles but it is the current direction.
I was watching WWE Hell In A Cell and noticed that John Cena dropped a razor in front of the camera after Orton's Backbreaker. Did WWE plan for blood if the blade didn't slip?
One thing everyone needs to understand is WWE never told their workers to blade, in fact blading was something that was banned for many years and if you got caught, you would get heat. I'm not sure if Cena planned on using the blade or not but I'm pretty sure WWE officials did not tell him to carry one to the ring.
Christopher Daniels has been with TNA practically since its inception. He is not only one of the most talented in-ring performers on the roster; he is also one of the most popular. Do you see him becoming a contender for the TNA World Title in the future or will he forever be stuck in the X-Division?
At 38 years old I think Christopher Daniels is going to be stuck in the spot he is currently in. I agree Daniels is one of the most talented in-ring performers on the roster, but I do not think most fans see him as a main event talent.
