Morrison, Upcoming Workers, HHH, Scouting Talent
Written by Richard Gray on Sep 8, 2010 - 10:55:34 AM
Do you see a heel turn for John Morrison? I'm still a fan but feel he was more effective as a heel.
I do not blame you for enjoying the heel version of John Morrison better just as I do not blame Morrison for being unable to get over as a babyface. The WWE creative team has struggled under their PG initiative to script affective babyface promos, thus the company is lacking in babyface talent on both brands. The workers getting over as babyfaces in the top of the card are workers that have a split following (John Cena, Randy Orton, etc.). I don't know the answer to the problem other than the creative team needs to nix some of the over-the-top PG stuff to help people get over.
What is happening to workers like Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes and MVP? These workers seemed to be destined for top places just a few months ago and now they appear to be getting lost in the shuffle.
Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes still have bright futures in WWE. Sure they haven't received the push of Sheamus but they are being built up on their respective brands. The future doesn't look as bright for MVP and he may be restricted to a career mid-card guy. He's been scheduled to get pushed at different times of his career but at times his attitude has gotten in the way (remember the losing streak that became a scripted humbling a couple years ago?). Anything is possible but a push comes down to the right situation and the fans getting behind it. It's also very beneficial to have the support of other top stars.
Now that Chris Jericho is out of the main event at WWE Night of Champions could you see Triple H coming back and being the sixth man?
Triple H is the most obvious pick to return to WWE in the Raw main event at Night of Champions. I haven't heard the plans as to what WWE wants to do but if Hunter is healthy, it's certainly a realistic possibility. A couple months ago Hunter was scheduled to return in late October at the earliest so if he does come back, he'll be way ahead of schedule.
With WWE going through a transitional period, some big names have left like Batista and Shawn Michaels, has WWE discussed looking into the TNA or Ring of Honor talent pool to try to sign any of those wrestlers to a contract?
WWE is always scouting talent from other organizations. Tyler Black, the current ROH Champion, signed a developmental deal with WWE in August. The company is also in the process of elevating younger workers as top talent such as Wade Barrett and Sheamus. Sheamus is established and Barrett is on his way.
