Nash, "Old School" Raw, Bryan, Highest Rated Impact

Written by Richard Gray on Nov 18, 2010 - 9:20:02 AM

With Kevin Nash having left TNA, do you see him returning to WWE?

Kevin Nash is currently gone from TNA and while TNA is beginning to budge on their offer, he has not yet agreed to a new contract. Nash teased a WWE comeback on his Twitter account but I just don't see Nash wanting to work the intense WWE schedule. Before he left WWE several years ago he was offered another position in the company but he declined and ended up in TNA. Because of his friendships with Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon he never got heat for going to TNA because it was basically "an offer he couldn't refuse". At this point I think it's more likely we see him back in TNA rather than WWE but nothing is for certain.

What was your take on the whole "Old School" Raw? I personally thought it was a nice change but they could have done so much more to make it a real entertaining show. If you ask me I feel the WWE just wanted to capitalize on the new clothing line that was just released. Most of the old wrestlers they brought were used as props for the most part. Overall I was disappointed.

I think you're in the minority based on responses we received. I thought Monday's "Old School" Raw was entertaining from start to finish and there was very little to criticize. If we are going to put the show under the microscope, they could have done a better job pushing Survivor Series and they've overdone The Hart Dynasty breakup but Monday night was the first time in a long time I didn't catch myself tempted to change the channel. The show was entertaining for three hours and that's a rarity in today's PG programming. I took several good things away from Monday's show with the most important being WWE can create entertaining PG programming. It takes a little more effort with more variety but it is possible. I said on Tuesday this was "WWE at its best" and I'm not backing off that statement. Sure it doesn't compare to the "best" of WWE's heyday but it was certainly one of the better shows of the past two years.

What's your opinion on the presumable Bryan Daniel vs. Ted DiBiase feud over the WWE United States Championship? Must we expect them to put on matches as good as the Bryan Daniel vs. Dolph Ziggler ones have been?

Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler certainly set the bar high and it's going to be very difficult for Daniel and DiBiase to top the series of matches from the past feud. With that being said, Bryan is certainly capable and DiBiase has what I would consider adequate in-ring work. As for my thoughts on the feud, I'm just glad to see Bryan getting on pay-per-view cards assuming that match takes place at Survivor Series on Sunday. He's an outstanding worker and has already proved that in his short tenure in WWE.

What is the highest TNA Impact rating ever?

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but from the information I can recall, TNA Impact did its highest rating ever on the live three-hour edition of Impact featuring the debut of Hulk Hogan on January 4, 2010. The show did a 1.45 cable rating on Spike TV. The number set expectations very high for TNA as the company ended up moving Impact to Monday nights on a regular basis. The audience didn't continue to grow and TNA had to move back to the Thursday timeslot on Spike TV. The reason TNA did such a high rating on January 4th is because the company did a better job promoted that show than they have done any show to date. Without effective marketing, storylines and talent do not matter.
