NXT Rookies, Unification, Cole Hating, Highest Rating

What was the reason for having all seven eliminated Rookies attack Kaval at the end of last night's edition of WWE NXT?
I haven't heard the plan but I would imagine it was to launch everyone to either Raw or Smackdown with Kaval. As I've been trying to explain throughout NXT, the purpose of the show is not to pick one star out of developmental and cut the rest. It's to create a couple stars, a couple mid-carders and a couple of enhancement guys. The guys featured on the show are the best WWE developmental has to offer. WWE isn't going to cut them just because they weren't in the plan to win the staged competition. As we've seen with The Nexus, the best are on their way to the top (Wade Barrett, possibly Daniel Bryan) and others (Darren Young, Skip Sheffield) have fizzled out. As for the angle last night, I wasn't a fan of the Kaval beat down as it was way too similar to what WWE is doing with The Nexus.
What do you think of the unification of the WWE Tag Team Championship and Women's belts? Do you think it will do more bad than good?
The unification of the two women's titles is needed. I don't have to tell anyone that reads this website WWE's Divas division leaves a lot to be desired. It's not that the company doesn't have the talent either, it's just the way they push their Divas is not based on talent. To makes matters worse, Melina (who at one time was considered a good worker) has come back looking untrained. Her work has been hard to watch and her opponents haven't done her any favors. The tag titles were the same situation. There weren't enough tag teams in the company to create a legitimate division. WWE was starting to build value in the titles when they first unified them but now they are ending up more like props.
What is the backstage story on Michael Cole being high up on The Miz?
Michael Cole repeatedly putting over The Miz on WWE NXT as well as talking down about Daniel Bryan is an angle. It's a play off Cole's real-life personality as a WWE mark and dirt sheet hater. I personally feel it's more entertaining than the Michael Cole we see on Raw each week.
What is WWE Raw's highest rating ever?
It's been awhile since I answered this question but the highest Raw rating on record is the 8.1 cable rating the show did on May 10, 1999. The show was headlined by Undertaker, Triple H, and Shane McMahon taking on Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and Vince McMahon with Shawn Michaels as the guest referee in a six man tag team match.
