Raw GM, Undertaker/Hunter, WWE PPVs, Ask WNW
Written by Richard Gray on Jun 9, 2008 - 1:25:12 PM
My question is about the GM situation on WWE's shows. Vickie Guerrero is obviously entrenched as the SmackDown GM with how much heat she is drawing and the storyline with Edge, and Teddy Long is now the ECW GM. So, after William Regal's substance abuse violation, who, if anyone, will be moving into the position of Raw GM? By the way, I love the site! I visit it often for the great news, blogs on the shows, and insight you guys provide. Keep up the good work.
From what I have heard Vince McMahon is going to remain in the executive role for the time being during this McMahon Million Dollar Mania. Personally I would like to see McMahon occupy the position until SummerSlam and bring Ric Flair back as the Raw GM. Flair will have been gone for five months when that happens and I think that he would have had enough of a break where he would fit the position nicely. That is all just me just wishful thinking as I have not heard of a definitive replacement. Thanks for the kinds words on the website!
With the "ban" of the Undertaker, do you think that WWE will scrap the summer-long program between John Cena and Triple H and input the Undertaker in for one of them? I remember reading that Undertaker was to get a long title run and he didn't get it.
WWE is already advertising Undertaker for their SmackDown/ECW tour down under this week so evidentially his sabbatical was not for that long. From what I have been told, Hunter and Undertaker will never work together nor would they be able to coexist on the same brand because of some issues that they have with one another. I do not have details beyond that but I do not see Undertaker being moved to Raw anyways.
Hi Richard, love the site and greatly appreciate your hard work! What is the "order of importance" when it comes to WWE PPVs? We all know WrestleMania is the biggest WWE PPV (or the "A" show), but what are the next biggest?
Thanks for the kind words! The "big four" shows are WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Royal Rumble, and Survivor Series. I’m not sure how it is looked at internally other than WrestleMania is their flagship pay-per-view and that the other three are considered very important. One could make an argument one way or the other for all of the rest of the shows, although those are the four that WWE banks on being the most successful.
Hi Richard! Love the site. You have answered one of my questions before in this segment, but I would like to know how long sent questions last? What I mean is, If I send you a question on Monday, and it isn't answered on that day, what are the chances that my question will be answered the next day or days after?
This is a great question. We receive so much email that I clear the Ask WNW email box out every day. So if you send me a question after this segment runs on the website, if it is not answered tomorrow than it will probably be deleted and not answered. I do not check the Ask WNW email box over the weekend so questions received after Friday’s installment are answered on Monday. I’m very busy so when I go through the questions I try to skim through all of them and pick the four best. It is essential that you use good spelling and grammar as I will normally at least reply to the email if it is well written.
