Releases?, DiBiase's DUI, Kane/ONS, Female Wrestlers
Written by Richard Gray on Jun 2, 2008 - 1:35:56 PM
b>Hey Richard. With the cancellation of Heat do you see imminent releases for people such as Hacksaw and Snitsky whose only appearances for months on end would be on there?
You make a good point and I really haven't thought about it. I know that WWE just changed Hacksaw Jim Duggan's contract over from a WWE superstars contract to a WWE legends deal which opens him up for independent appearances but I guess this is one of those things where we are going to have to wait and see. Vince McMahon has been determined to try and get Snitsky over but no matter how much of a push that they try to give him, he draws no reaction what-so-ever. I blame it on the poor booking of his character. Nonetheless some cuts could be in order with the extinction of Heat as I never really thought of it.
My question is about Ted DiBiase Jr. I remember awhile back him getting arrested for driving under the influence. Have you heard anything on his behavior backstage? Is he another "Randy Orton" so to speak when it comes to things like that or was it just a one time live and learn slip up?
I have not heard anything about DiBiase's behavior but I would imagine that he is pretty tame right now since he is so green. I was just as surprised as anyone to see DiBiase on WWE television after his DUI this past February. I'm not sure if you followed the story or not but DiBiase got the DUI after he had a car accident and his BAC was .137 which is well over the legal limit in the state of Florida (where the accident occurred) of .08. I know that everyone makes mistakes but to be driving with a BAC of .137 is ridiculous.
Why was Kane on the One Night Stand promotional material and he is ECW Champion but not featured in any matches at the PPV?
The promotional material for events is done so far in advance it is extremely hard to get the storylines to line up with the material done to promote the event. With that being said I figure that it was assumed that Kane would be on the card, however, as it ended up they had nothing for him. Do not pay a lot of attention to pay-per-view posters and other promotional material as they are basically useless in trying to uncover storylines or future plans.
I love the website. In your opinion who are the top 5 female wrestlers from TNA or WWE or both companies mixed together?
This is a tough one because a lot depends on the opponent. Right now I would have to say that I would order them like this: 1) Gail Kim, 2) Awesome Kong, 3) Beth Phoenix, 4) Mickie James, and 5) Raisha Saeed. I did not spend a lot of time on that list as I still think that Jillian Hall can go as well as Velvet Sky and Roxxi. As I said, a lot depends on who they are facing. Let's not forget Victoria either. If Trish were still wrestling I would say that she would probably take over the number one spot. I think Gail is the clear cut number one right now because she can work with anyone. Kong is an outstanding wrestler but she has had problems working with women closer to her size (I thought some of her bouts with ODB were lackluster). As for Beth, she can work with anyone and make the match look believable. Mickie could have a good match with any of the women listed and in the right situation I might put her higher on the list. Saeed is Cheerleader Melissa and after I watched her work at Lockdown, I checked out some of her indy matches and she can definitely work. Again, do not nail me to the wall on this list as it was about as impromptu as could be.
