ROH Workers In WWE, Jeff Hardy, Sting, Styles

Written by Richard Gray on Sep 16, 2009 - 11:49:58 AM

What are WWE's plans for Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness? Will they have to spend time in Florida Championship Wrestling?

I haven't heard but I would imagine WWE will send them both to Florida Championship Wrestling to evaluate them before calling them up to the main roster. This is how they have done ROH workers in the past although things might be a little different with Danielson and McGuinness.

Do you see Vince McMahon letting Jeff Hardy return to WWE if he is not convicted on the charges from his arrest?

I do not see how Jeff Hardy is going to be able to beat the very serious charges brought against him. I'm not sure of Hardy's financial shape but regardless of what kind of lawyer he can afford, he is facing very serious charges with very serious consequences. I think the chances of him returning to wrestling in general are slim much less a return to WWE.

Have there been any discussions about having Sting return for a one-time match at WrestleMania?

I am not aware of any recent discussions between Sting and WWE; however, WWE has pursued Sting in the past. The hang up has always been on the schedule he is willing to work. Sting doesn't want a full schedule and Vince McMahon does not like workers to dictate when they will work and when they will not. McMahon thinks everyone should have to work house shows, TVs and pay-per-views not just select TVs and PPVs which is how Sting's schedule is in TNA.

I know that you have said that Vince doesn't like smaller wrestlers and that he is very high up on certain wrestlers like The Great Khali but he has been putting the World Title on smaller wrestlers as of late Jeff Hardy, CM Punk, etc. My question is AJ Styles is one of the best wrestlers in the world today and I feel that he and CM Punk could have a great program as well as Morrison vs. AJ. Do you feel that if he were to leave TNA for WWE, he would get the push he deserves?

It's not that Vince McMahon doesn't like smaller wrestlers as much as he sees the bigger guys as more marketable. Vince McMahon is known for pushing workers based on marketability more than ring work. This is why guys like The Great Khali have jobs while guys like Brian Kendrick are released. I think WWE would be interested in AJ Styles; however, I would not look for him to get a main event push. McMahon has not been receptive to pushing TNA names, mostly due to ego. Look at R-Truth, Gail Kim and Christian as examples. Gail and Christian are considered two of the best workers in the business yet are not pushed as top workers in WWE.
