Hey Richard love the site. I'm always checking in and out for new updates in the world of wrestling, great stuff. My question is concerning your motive with the DUI bust of Santino Marella. You guys always say that your site is strictly about the wrestling aspect of the wrestlers not their personal issues. Do you think by glorifying the fact that the source of this story came about from WNW that you guys just became another gossip type website?
Thanks for the compliments. No, arrests are not gossip. While I am sure that we did not make Santino happy yesterday it is our responsibility to cover the news no matter how ugly that it may be. Arrests and deaths are the hardest things to cover because no one wants to hear about them. Unfortunately, it is our responsibility to cover such news. Ryan's top story image does look like a tabloid but he always has fun when making them. The funniest one he has done in awhile is the Mark Henry/Michael Hayes image from last week.
I know Ted Turner's corporation wasn't allowed to broadcast wrestling for a number of years after the buyout by WWE, but that period is over now so why doesn't he form some sort of deal with TNA as his money may be able to bring up the level of their product?
I do not like to use the word never but that is highly unlikely unless Turner were to purchase the company from Panda Energy. Panda Energy is TNA's majority owner and they have no interest in selling the company. There have been rumors that they have received offers in excess of $20 million and they have still refused to sell the promotion. Panda Energy appears to be in TNA for the long haul, however, with TNA being a private company no one knows if they are making a profit and if they are how much of a profit.
I was wondering why on Raw Santino Marella was announced from Italy when he is usually announced from Patterson, New Jersey. I especially thought that that was weird because it was in New Jersey and I figured they'd play some kind of hometown thing.
Santino was actually born in Canada. WWE usually bills him from Calabria, Italy although on Raw this week they billed him as from Paterson, New Jersey by way of Calabria, Italy. WWE is usually not going to play up a wrestler's hometown unless they are in the legitimate hometown of the wrestler.
After watching last night's edition of Impact, what has happened to Kurt Angle? He looks like he has lost a lot of weight. Is he sick?
More than one reader asked this question and to be honest I do not know what is up with Angle's weight loss. He could be cycling some supplements that he is taking or may just not be working out as hard now that he is no longer the TNA Champion. He is not sick although he is working banged up.
