Shows Overseas, Christian/Edge's Return, Cena, Lena
Written by Richard Gray on Nov 14, 2008 - 12:51:23 PM
Why from time to time will WWE do a title change when they are overseas only to change it back on the last day of the tour?
WWE will do a title change overseas every now and then because they want to make the shows special. WWE has a large international fan base; however, the majority of their shows are ran in the United States. WWE wants to give fans outside of the US an incentive for attending their shows. The company is a global giant and they want to cater to fans all around the world.
Do you think that WWE is holding off on Edge's return until Christian decides if he is staying with TNA or coming back to WWE?
Absolutely not; Christian Cage is still under contract with TNA Wrestling and will be until next month. WWE is not tailoring their storylines around something that might happen; people need to realize that WWE hasn't even offered Christian a contract because he is contractually bound to another company.
Does it make sense to make John Cena's first match back a title match?
John Cena is seen as one of the company's biggest stars. Like him or not, he sells merchandise and is a great ambassador for WWE. With that being said, the company wants to make as big of a deal about his return as possible so that is why they are giving him the Survivor Series main event against Chris Jericho.
I love your site. Thanks for giving us the up to date information on some of our favorite wrestlers. I have read on another website that Gail Kim has signed with WWE and that was the cause of WWE releasing Lena Yada, because they look too much alike. Do you know if that is true?
Thank you for the kind words! I haven't heard that story and I doubt that there’s anything to it. WWE didn't have anything for Lena Yada which is why she was deemed expendable and let go. WWE does not discriminate and whoever wrote that was probably just speculating. Gail Kim is still finalizing her deal with WWE and the last I heard - she was not a lock to return. Things could have changed in the past couple of weeks but if I hear anything else I'll be sure and put it on the website.

One of the conditions of the sale of WCW to WWE was that Turner Networks agreed not to air pro wrestling until April 2006.
