Stables In WWE, HBK Behind Cade?, Carlito/HHH, Killings
Written by Richard Gray on Jun 19, 2008 - 10:26:29 AM
Long time reader first time submission. I remember back in the attitude era there was a large influx of stables in the WWE(f). You had the Nation of Domination, Degeneration X, The Ministry, the Corporation, the JOB Squad all gracing the WWE(F) over that period. I always saw these stables as a great way to bring young superstars into the main event picture (Look at Randy Orton's career since being associated with Ric Flair and Triple H). Why has the WWE turned away from stables and do you think they will ever bring them back? I could definitely see a Heel stable with the multi generational wrestlers led by Randy Orton (DH Smith, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase Jr.)
I do not have the reason why WWE has shied away from stables other than they can become monotonous and fuel fires backstage. Right now it seems like the only notable stable in WWE is La Familia with Edge, Chavo, Ryder, Hawkins, Bam Neely, and of course Vickie Guerrero. There is talk about doing a stable of 2nd and 3rd generation wrestlers led by either Randy Orton or Carlito but that plan could change. Remember there was serious talk about doing a stable comprised of Hart family members and billing them as the next Hart Foundation although Teddy Hart ended up getting released from his WWE developmental contract.
Hey, love the site and love the premium service. I am a huge HBK fan and I am just wondering something. Lance Cade was trained by Michaels right? So for those conspiracy theorists out there: do you think Michaels, with his stroke with Vince, is helping this monster push of Cade's?
Yes, Shawn Michaels trained Lance Cade. Shawn definitely has influence backstage and while I have not heard if he is the facilitator of Cade's push – it would not surprise me if he was. However, I do not believe that the only reason that Lance Cade is getting this push is because of his relationship with Michaels. If you look at Lance Cade, he definitely has the potential to be a big name based on wrestling ability and size it is just a matter of whether or not they can get his gimmick over. I'm optimistic about Cade's future in WWE although I still question having him help Jericho lay out Hunter and Cena on Raw.
What do you think about Carlito's remarks about Triple H's backstage politics? They say there's a video out there in Spanish where he says that WWE isn't using him right. He then goes to say that Triple H gets whatever he wants because he is married to Steph. I applaud Carlito for standing up to Hunter. He's the only guy with the guts to do it. What's you perspective on that issue?
Personally I think that Carlito was working when he made the comments. You have to understand that Carlito is a heel and a heel can get away with making remarks like that without repercussions. I have read the rumors that Carlito is unhappy with his position in WWE but that is completely overblown. I could name a dozen WWE wrestlers that are "unhappy" or wish that they were used differently in the company but just because it's Carlito it is all of the sudden a breaking news story. Also, I get tired of all of the people that say that Triple H is this egotistical self-centered maniac backstage. Hunter is not the most liked superstar but the majority of the boys are very professional when it comes down to business. This isn't to say that Carlito still wouldn't leave WWE if a better offer was on the table but there is nothing right now. The last thing that Carlito would want to do is make a mistake like Shawn Daivari did only to regret it later.
When is Ron Killings going to debut on WWE television? Could we see him being a surprise draft pick next Monday?
The debut of Ron Killings is imminent and I would not be shocked if he made a surprise debut on television next week on Raw. I have not heard anything for sure but I do know that Killings will be on WWE television sooner than later.
