Striker, WWE Diva Feuds, Hart Dynasty, More

Written by Richard Gray on Jun 18, 2009 - 3:11:33 PM

Matt Striker has been an announcer for a while now. Is he happy with his role or is he like how Randy Savage was and highly dislikes his role?

As far as I know Matt Striker is happy with his role as an announcer on ECW. I would think Striker would prefer a guaranteed role on television and pay-per-views rather than being jobbed out as an enhancement worker. Everyone in the WWE office is high up on his work because of the knowledge he posses about the business.

One of my favorite women's feuds was the Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong program in TNA Wrestling. In my opinion those two really raised the Knockouts credibility by putting together stellar matches and they even got to main event an episode of Impact. With the current state of women's wrestling in WWE, are there any divas whose matches you feel could rival the excitement of Kim/Kong?

I was always high up on the work of Beth Phoenix and Mickie James. I would like to see Gail Kim get more of a push and wouldn't mind seeing a Gail Kim vs. Mickie James program (I know this isn't likely given they are on different brands). Another female worker that I think is very underrated is Jillian Hall. Jillian could have great feuds if utilized properly. Some of the women that are currently pushed in the top of the card, I am not as high up on.

Do you think they might be pushing The Hart Dynasty a little too quickly?

No, I understand Davey Hart Smith pinned Christian on ECW but I think it's necessary to build the faction up and didn't win without the help of Tyson Kidd. I'm excited with the way The Hart Dynasty is going on ECW. Many of our readers have been pleading for more factions and while The Hart Dynasty is small, it's at least a new faction to enjoy while developing two very talented younger workers.

My question is regarding the hierarchy in WWE. Everyone knows Vince is number 1, but who is 2 - I would assume Linda is two and Shane and Stephanie share spot 3, but after the family, who holds the most stroke? Or is it more of stroke by committee? I would have to think Jim Ross is up the ladder.

Jim Ross actually doesn't have any executive authority any more. JR was replaced as Senior Vice President of Talent Relations by John Laurinaitis who has a lot of power backstage. Kevin Dunn, who is the Executive Vice President of Television Production, also has a lot of say. You can view a full list of executive officers in World Wrestling Entertainment at their corporate website which you can access at this link.
