Suicide, Raw Timeslot, Mickie's Job, John Morrison
Written by Richard Gray on Oct 13, 2009 - 11:21:10 AM
Who's working as "Suicide" in TNA?
Frankie Kazarian is Suicide. Daniels worked as the character when Kaz was injured but now the role is played by Frankie.
Wrestling shows for as long as I know have started at or around 9:00pm (WCW Nitro may have started earlier, most likely to give away the WWF's taped results.) Until recently, the product was rated TV-14 and I can see that being a reason to start at a late time slot, but now at a PG rating, do you see the WWE ever changing what time their shows start? They could draw bigger ratings with their younger target audience if they ever start earlier, but this may be the decision of the networks that the WWE are on and not the WWE's. I am not an expert on television ratings and such so the 9pm time slot is probably the best time for the WWE to capture any ratings as they haven't changed it since RAW's inception.
I agree the 8 PM - 10 PM timeslot would make more sense for the younger audience, but I haven't heard of any plans to change it (remember, Raw airs in this timeslot for the Central time zone). Apparently WWE officials feel they have established the timeslot and don't want to mess around with something that works in fear of losing audience.
I know Mickie is moving from Raw to SmackDown. But why embarrass her by making her drop the title to Jillian? Does it go back to the incident with Gail Kim?
It certainly looks like there was a motive behind Mickie James doing the job to Jillian. I heard there were plans of doing Beth Phoenix vs. Mickie James for the Divas Championship and they gave this a run on this weekend's house shows. However, their matches did not get good reviews from reports we received. Mickie had heat on her for her incident with Gail Kim so that could have played a factor. If I get more information, I'll be sure and pass it along.
Do you know if there are any plans to give John Morrison a bigger push, and put him in the World Heavyweight Championship picture?
It is very likely John Morrison will become a main eventer in the coming months. WWE officials have been very careful when booking his character as they do not want to rush things. As far as I know, management is high up on his work. I compare Morrison to a younger Shawn Michaels.
