Tag Titles, Edge/Champ, Problems With The Law, The Miz
Written by Richard Gray on May 6, 2009 - 10:36:25 AM
When will the unified tag team titles be changed and become just one belt for each champion?
I haven't heard. I had speculated after the titles were first unified the champions would carry both belts around for a couple of weeks to play up their win, which has been done. However, I have not yet heard when WWE plans to give them one set of titles. I would imagine the company will debut a new look for the belts but I haven't heard anything yet.
Now don't get me wrong here, I love Edge and all, but don't you get sick of seeing him as champion? Why not give someone else a chance?
We have had a lot of readers that feel just as you do. Edge is a five-time World Heavyweight Champion and a four-time WWE Champion and has accomplished this in a relatively short time. Title reigns always come down to the right situation and I think more than anything else, Edge has proved to be dependable. I realize he has had injuries but he has proven to be a credible champion that can draw heat and go in the ring and on the mic. I personally agree with you (and the other WNW readers) in that it is time someone else gets a run as champion. If Undertaker is unable to have a title reign because of his injury status I think the two best options are Jeff Hardy and Chris Jericho. Hardy had a very lackluster reign as WWE Champion and deserves a chance to prove himself as a top guy. Jericho is one of the best heels in the company and would fit nicely as World Heavyweight Champion. I'm not sure if WWE will change the title again at Judgment Day but I wouldn't be against it.
When a WWE superstar has a run-in with police, does it count as a Wellness Policy strike, or has another kind of punishment (if it does have)?
If a worker gets arrested or in trouble with the law it does not count as a Wellness Policy violation but they are still subject to another type of suspension from the company. However, WWE does not always punish workers that get arrested. If you remember last May, Santino Marella got arrested for Driving Under the Influence and never got suspended. Granted he wasn't over the legal limit (as far as BAC is concerned) but a lot of people said he was untouchable after that.
What are your thoughts on The Miz the last couple of weeks bashing Cena?
I was not a big fan of The Miz's promo last week as I felt the crowd didn't buy into his challenge from John Cena. This week, however, I felt he did a much better job at convincing the crowd. The Miz has a bright future and I think it's interesting how Morrison is getting a run as a babyface with Miz getting a run as a heel. We'll see who comes out of it in a better situation.

When Shawn Michaels was attacked outside of a Syracuse nightclub by approximately 10 thugs (actually it was by a marine group), Shawn was accompanied by Davey Boy Smith and X-Pac. They beat up Shawn while the others held Davey Boy and X-Pac back.
