Miz's Cena Comment, MVP, Jericho, Helms On ECW

Written by Richard Gray on Apr 29, 2009 - 10:21:26 AM

Why would Vince McMahon let The Miz make such a disparaging remark about how he can't see John Cena because his movies aren't in the theaters long enough?

I wondered the same thing when I heard The Miz use that line but I have to admit I popped for it. Apparently WWE is willing to admit the film was a failure - which is surprising. Maybe the emphasis will be placed on rentals which is what happened with The Condemned starring Steve Austin.

I thought MVP cut a really good promo on Raw and had an impressive match with Randy Orton. What were your impressions of MVP that night?

I agree completely. MVP cut a great promo and the fans bought into him as competition for Randy Orton and Legacy (something I don't feel happened with The Miz). As for his match with Orton I thought it was an excellent TV match and showed MVP is capable of working in the top of the card. If MVP is able to get along and keep his ego in check, I don't think it is out of the question to consider him for a possible run as a main event talent.

What do you think is next for Chris Jericho? Do you think by the time SummerSlam rolls around that we will see him main eventing?

There is no way I can predict the future but I think Chris Jericho will main event before SummerSlam. By being moved to SmackDown, Jericho is one of the top heels on the brand and numerous feuds are created as possibilities. Jericho is seen as one of the top guys in WWE.

Why is Hurricane Helms being used as a backstage interviewer in ECW instead of a wrestler?

I haven't heard if Helms is done in the ring but I know his future as an in-ring performer is very questionable because of the shape of his neck. One source told me the only reason WWE brought him back was so he would be able to pay WWE back for the money they fronted him for his neck surgery. Maybe they want to try him out in a different role but we'll see soon enough.
