TNA Or WWE, Vince Russo, Jericho Over, More
Written by Richard Gray on Jul 23, 2009 - 11:08:31 AM
Hi Richard, I was just wondering which company would you rather work for TNA under Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett or with the WWE and Vince McMahon?
I would rather work for Vince McMahon and WWE. Not only would I be working for the biggest and most dominant wrestling company in the world, I would have much more job security. There is also no way I could work in the creative end of things with Vince Russo.
I've read the responses for Victory Road and even sent in my own thoughts. But I keep on reading how people are blaming Vince Russo for this and not people like Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett. So maybe you can tell me just how much power Vince Russo has in TNA. Who else is in the booking team? We know Russo doesn't have the greatest track record because of WCW (though you have to credit the man for what he did in WWF). But why are people continuing to use Russo as a scapegoat and not putting the blame on people like Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett (though he wasn't at the PPV, so who knows what really is going on there)
Vince Russo books most of what you see on TNA television and pay-per-views. Dutch Mantel contributes and books the stuff for the Knockouts. Jeff Jarrett obviously has a lot of input in creative decisions as I heard Jim Cornette is filling in for him while he is on leave. However, most stuff is booked by Russo which is why he takes the majority of the heat. I'm not sure if you saw or not but TNA actually booked a "keys on a pole" match at this week’s Impact tapings. That has Vince Russo written all over it.
Why does Chris Jericho get attacked by fans more than other heels?
I think it shows how good of a heel Chris Jericho is and the extraordinary ability he has to make people dislike him. There's a deep history in the wrestling business, especially before the days of the Internet, of heels being in danger because of their characters. The fact that Jericho is able to make fans so angry in the Internet age shows how great of a heel he is. That being said I do not recommend trying to attack Jericho.
My question is do you think WWE should move SmackDown to live on Thursday nights and move WWE Superstars to Wednesday nights or would this be a long shot?
The WWE television schedule isn't changing anytime soon. I'm surprised WWE didn't move SmackDown back to Thursday nights when they signed with MyNetworkTV. As for SmackDown airing live, I do not look for that to happen either. It is not cost effective to do live TV two times a week and with the current state of the economy, WWE isn't going to do anything that is going to cost more.
