TNA/Playboy, Monty Brown, Tomko, DX vs. Legacy?, Taker
Written by Richard Gray on Jul 29, 2009 - 10:42:29 AM
What do you think about the TNA/Playboy announcement? Is this just another sad situation of TNA copying WWE?
Obviously TNA picked up where WWE left off by agreeing to the deal but I think it does more to help the company than hurt it. Playboy has a large readership and it does nothing but help increase the exposure of TNA Wrestling. Furthermore, Playboy serves one of TNA's key demographics in males over 18 years old which they are hoping will increase their viewership.
Do you know what Monty Brown has been up to lately? I know he left WWE because of some family issues but has that not been taken care of? He had a lot of success in TNA and he never went back there either. Is he done wrestling?
I do not have a recent update on Monty Brown but he was telling people a couple of months ago he was negotiating a return to WWE. I'm not sure if that is still in the works or fell through but I can confirm he told people he was talking about it.
I was wondering what's going on with Tomko? Is he still injured or was he released or both?
Apparently Tomko was released from his WWE contract before he ever made it to television. Tomko initially denied reports he was released but he hasn't been involved in anything with WWE since he worked a tryout match with Paul Burchill nearly a year ago.
My question is regarding Shawn Michaels return. What are the chances of a DX vs. The Legacy at SummerSlam?
As I reported yesterday here on WrestlingNewsWorld.com, Shawn Michaels is expected to work SummerSlam which is why he is included in promotional material for the show. Based on the angle they did on Monday's Raw with Triple H challenging Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes, it certainly looks like they are going in the direction of DX vs. The Legacy at SummerSlam. However, that is speculation and I have yet to hear that.
My question involves the absence of the Undertaker. Exactly what are the circumstances surrounding his inactive status with the company? Just taking time off?
The Undertaker has taken time off to rest his knees and had a minor surgical procedure done to clean up his hip. He was said to be in rough shape during WrestleMania weekend as far as being in pain but you would have never known it after seeing his match against Shawn Michaels.
