My question is concerning the King of the Ring tournament. As much of a mockery as the bottom half of the bracket was, I would like to know whom you would place into a bracket using the same eight-man format? The kicker being with wrestlers from WWE, TNA, and ROH.
I got this question before the weekend and I have been thinking about it for several days. Here is what my bracket would look like using wrestlers from the promotions in which you specified:
Brian Danielson (ROH) vs. Kurt Angle (TNA)
Rey Mysterio (WWE) vs. Austin Aries (ROH)
Nigel McGuinness (ROH) vs. The Undertaker (WWE)
Samoa Joe (TNA) vs. John Cena (WWE)
I tried to get a mix from all three of the promotions. I know that my first round matches might be the best bouts, however, I like the mix I have of technical wrestling, fast-paced wrestling, and versatile big men. Joe vs. Cena would be a great match with their tendencies to mix power and submission.
How much will SmackDown miss head creative team writer Michael Hayes?
I think that the brand has already suffered from his absence. Whether or not you like Hayes as a person, he does have a great knack at writing entertaining storylines. I think that his absence will hurt the show and hopefully Vince McMahon will be able to get the right people in place to make up for his absence. It is my understanding that Ed Koskey and Chris DeJoseph are currently working together to write the storylines for SmackDown and ECW.
Do you think that TNA will do a Kurt Angle/AJ Styles angle over Karen?
Yes. There has been a lot of talk about doing an Angle/Styles program in TNA. When it will happen and who it will involve remains to be seen but I am fairly confident that the company will go through with the angle. Samoa Joe's title reign is going to be extended so I would look for Kurt to take a backseat to Joe after Sacrifice.
Do you think the comments/jokes/sniping made by the Miz and John Morrison, during their respective commentaries of each other’s matches, about Mike Adamle were part of their gimmick (dirt sheet et al) or just the general feeling about his position as announcer?
Honestly it seems like the talent and other announcers are ribbing Mike Adamle about his mistakes. From what I understand, Adamle knows that his work is lackluster and wants to improve it. He is getting a lot of flak from the boys because he is not considered one of them. Some of the comments directed towards Adamle on last night's Backlash pay-per-view I thought were pretty entertaining.
