US Politics/Raw, Mike Knox, Warrior, Working For WWE

Written by Richard Gray on Apr 24, 2008 - 10:19:06 AM

Honestly I was really looking forward to see what the senators would have to say on Raw even though I am not American. However, it seemed to be more a WWE scripted speech, especially the one McCain gave as they hardly tried to put something interesting. Do you think like me that it would have been better to give a serious speech than what we saw? Keep on the good work we really appreciate it!

I thought the speeches were pretty well done from all three of the candidates. They mixed in some professional wrestling references with a brief speech of what they are about. Obviously they weren't going to deliver long drawn out political speeches on a WWE broadcast; no one wants to see that. If you want to learn more about the candidates, don't rely on WWE. Thanks for the kind words on the site as they are much appreciated!

Why is Mike Knox still allowed to wrestle even though it's clear he must have violated the Wellness Policy?

Mike Knox did not violate the WWE Wellness Policy. There were bottles of HGH and steroids that could have belonged to him. Since Knox's name was not on the bottles they do not have enough to tie the substances to him. I have a detailed story on this now available in the WNW Premium area. You can read it at this link.

With Ultimate Warrior returning to the ring it made me wonder about his name. I was under the impression that "Ultimate Warrior" was copyrighted by WWE (which was why he had legally changed his name to Warrior). Did they need permission to use it or has that copyright expired?

I am not an expert on copyright law but I am under the impression that calling Ultimate Warrior is like calling me Ultimate Richard and since you cannot copyright someone's name, he is allowed to use the name outside of WWE.

Hey Wrestling News World. Your website is so cool. I read it all the time. I saw your comments on Mike Adamle, and how bad he is. I haven't heard him yet because I don't get ECW. I want to become a play by play announcer for the WWE, so I was wondering what do I have to do?

It's pretty hard to break into the business as a play-by-play guy and chances are you would not start out in WWE. I would pursue a college degree in something along the lines of communications or broadcast news journalism. WWE likes people with experience in the television field but you almost have to have some friends with close ties to WWE to even be considered. If I were you I would get some experience in the TV field and take another job with WWE. Then try and work your way up.
