Vickie's Send-Off, Trump "Owning" Raw, TNA, More
Written by Richard Gray on Jun 16, 2009 - 11:11:41 AM
Do you think Vickie Guerrero's send-off was overdone and rude?
Throughout Vickie Guerrero's tenure in WWE I always defended the storylines she was put in, saying that Eddie would be proud of how over she got. However, I feel the pig jokes, the match at Extreme Rules and Edge's divorce promo were all a bit over the top. It was a very disrespectful and distasteful way to treat anyone, much less the widowed wife of the legendary Eddie Guerrero.
Did Donald Trump really buy the Raw brand?
I'm actually surprised at how many times we received this question. No, Donald Trump did not purchase anything from Vince McMahon or WWE. This is an angle just like everything else. I'd be surprised if Trump is involved in a long term storyline but I haven't heard of the plans. If you subscribe to WNW Premium then you knew of WWE's plans to use Trump hours before the airing of last night's edition of Raw. You can still read our story that broke the news of Trump being involved at this link.
Do you think if the workers recently released by WWE end up in TNA it will help them become legitimate competition?
No, I do not. The possible additions of Kennedy and Umaga to TNA certainly wouldn't hurt, but I think in order for the company to become legitimate competition to WWE they need to fix things internally. This would include developing storylines that aren't rehashed from WWE (or WCW) and marketing their product as an alternative to WWE. As long as TNA is doing the same thing Vince is doing then adding a couple of gimmicks (such as a 6-sided ring) they are going to be stuck where they are.
What do you think is next for Chris Jericho? Do you think by the time SummerSlam rolls around that we will see him main eventing?
There is no way I can predict the future but I think Chris Jericho will main event before SummerSlam. By being moved to SmackDown, Jericho is one of the top heels on the brand and numerous feuds are created as possibilities. Jericho is seen as one of the top guys in WWE.
I was reading on Triple H on Wikipedia and there was a picture of Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall and said something about the MSG incident. Can you shed some light on what the MSG incident was?
The incident happened at a WWE house show in 1996 at Madison Square Garden where Scott Hall and Shawn Michaels were working as babyfaces and Triple H and Diesel (Kevin Nash) were working as heels. At the end of the show, all four embraced as Nash and Hall were leaving WWE to go to World Championship Wrestling. All four were (and still are) very close friends and were known as the Kliq backstage in WWE. They are infamously known for their political stroke to be able to get in Vince McMahon's ear.
