I haven't seen Rey Mysterio on Raw since he beat Santino Marella, which was like 3 weeks ago. I personally think that SmackDown would have given Rey better. Why hasn't Rey been seen?
I do not think that it is a case of which brand that he is on = there is more to it. I was told that WWE is being careful with him because they do not feel that he has fully recovered from his torn right biceps muscle that he suffered back in February. There have been rumors going around that he is in a contract dispute with WWE. I cannot confirm those rumors, however, I can tell you 100% that it has nothing to do with his move to Raw.
I am totally against WWE trying to have a PG rating. I mean wrestling isn't about being kid friendly, it's about way more than that. So what do you think?
You shouldn’t blow the whole PG rating out of proportion. WWE could always change a rating for a show if they decided to have an edgier storyline; however, they want to focus on programming that fits all ages. I do not think that anything is going to change as you have to remember that things are much different in 2008 than they were back in 1998 (or the Attitude Era). Back then, Vince McMahon was doing whatever that he could do to keep his promotion going. Now he has the industry dominated and he can set his programming at a level that he would like. I do not think that it is a bad thing and do not expect the product to change any more than it already has.
Ever since the draft it seems like the writing staff of Raw are not sure of what direction they want the brand to go in. Do you feel that RAW is headed in the right direction?
Well like you said I think that a lot of angles and programs have been felt out following the WWE Draft. I think that the increase in the ratings since the Draft says that the brand is headed in the ring direction; however, I think that after SummerSlam things should start to take shape as what direction that WWE plans on going in with each brand.
I have a quick question about the Batista vs. John Cena match for SummerSlam; don’t you think they should have saved the match for WrestleMania?
No and I don’t understand people that say that they should have. WrestleMania is over eight months away and SummerSlam is still a "big four" pay-per-view. Why is it that they could not do the match again at WrestleMania if it does well at SummerSlam? I understand people that say that the match is rushed but I don’t feel like it. WWE still has two weeks of Raw to build the match and they can obviously extend the feud past SummerSlam. Let’s face it; SummerSlam needed a big match from Raw to add to Undertaker vs. Edge from SmackDown. I think that John Cena vs. Batista gives the pay-per-view that.
How did Ask WNW come about and what made you start this?
I started Ask WNW in June 2007 because we got so many questions sent to us about wrestling I thought that it would be a good idea to start answering questions on the site. Also I am always looking to add features that make us different since so many websites rip off every piece of content that we put out. Ask WNW is a Monday-Friday ritual for me and I actually enjoy doing it.
