WM Plans, Striker, Ezekiel Jackson, Helms/Jericho
Written by Richard Gray on Feb 1, 2010 - 10:30:06 AM
With Edge returning last night what is the plan now for Wrestlemania? I thought the plans were Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker, Triple H vs. Sheamus, and Chris Jericho vs. Edge? So what are the new plans?
You are right with the original plans, however, based on what we saw last night at Royal Rumble it looks like they may do Edge vs. The Undertaker, Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels and someone else versus Sheamus. I would be much higher up on Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels, only because Michaels vs. The Undertaker was one of the best matches ever and there would be too much pressure for them to top it, especially given both of their health. Remember that Edge eliminated Jericho so they may have left it open, but I would prefer Edge vs. The Undertaker and Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels. We'll see but tonight's Raw and this week's TVs should be telling on what they are going to do.
It's amazing to me how good of an announcer Matt Striker has become since moving to Smackdown. Do you see him moving up to Raw in the near future to replace Michael Cole?
Anything is possible but I do not see Michael Cole being replaced on Raw for the foreseeable future. There was talk several months ago (when Jim Ross was still healthy) about putting JR back with The King but I haven't heard anything about replacing Cole with Striker. I agree that Striker is a great commentato.
Do you see Ezekiel Jackson becoming a future main eventer?
Ezekiel Jackson's size alone seems to give him a promising future; however, he still has some work to do before he's working in the top of the card. One thing I noticed last night is that his ability to sell is not where it needs to be. He didn't look bad last night but Christian clearly carried the match. Jackson has the extraordinary size McMahon likes to push so as long as he continues to improve he's got a shot to be a main event talent.
Why is Greg Helms getting heat and maybe losing his job over the infamous arrest and Chris Jericho is not?
As we reported here exclusively on WrestlingNewsWorld.com Premium, there's a good chance Hurricane Helms is finished with WWE. The reason there is so much heat on him and not Chris Jericho is because Jericho is viewed as "untouchable" and Helms was on the fence on keeping his job before the incident. It's not fair how Jericho receives preferential treatment but that's life. Jericho has a much longer leash than someone like Helms.
