WWE Attendance, Reid Flair's Problems, R-Truth, HBK
Written by Richard Gray on May 4, 2009 - 10:48:40 AM
Is WWE selling out these days now that their PG rating is aiming towards a kid friendly audience?
Attendance for WWE has been good, with venues not selling out being blamed more on the economy than anything else. As far as I know WWE's PG programming has not impacted business negatively. Of course it is hard to accurately gage business right now with the shape of the economy. It'll be interesting to look at WWE's quarter 1 earnings which will be released on Thursday.
With the recent charges against Reid Flair do you think that will hurt his chances of ever wrestling in TNA or WWE?
I think Reid Flair's problems with the law will have a big impact on his future. He's had three serious run-ins with the law including two charges of Driving While Impaired this year. The guy is a complete moron and needs to reexamine his life. Getting behind the wheel while intoxicated is one of the dumbest things someone could do. Not only is he placing his own life in jeopardy but lots of innocent people as well. To be caught with heroin is inexcusable and I hope he turns his life around but I couldn't see WWE or TNA wanting to take a risk on him despite being the son of Ric Flair.
Where is R-Truth? Is he hurt or he on the hot seat?
R-Truth was on the European tour with the SmackDown crew. I heard a couple of months ago he had heat because of lackluster in-ring work. There were plans for him to be included on the WrestleMania 25 card (hence him being included on the promotional poster) but like with Vladimir Kozlov, WWE officials decided not to use him.
What happened with Shawn Michaels this past month?
Shawn requested time off after WrestleMania to rest his ailing knees. As I reported exclusively on Wrestling News World Premium, Michaels could be out until mid-summer, which is longer than WWE officials had anticipated.
