I’m a senior at George Mason University about to graduate with a degree in econ, and I’m now preparing to find a job/career in May. I was wondering how I would go about getting into some backstage job involved with pro wrestling, whether in the indies/TNA/WWE. I’d like to get into the business, but have no idea how.
The first thing that I would try would be to submit some applications. WWE has a website called WWE-Careers.com where they post job listings and give you an opportunity to submit an application. TNA Wrestling also posts employment information as they have details on getting a job with the company on this page on the official TNA website. TNA is always looking for interns; however, you must live in the state of Tennessee. As for independent promotions you would have to get details from the promotion that you wanted to work with. Good luck and let me know if there is anything else that I can do to help you!
Will we be seeing a match between Matt Hardy and MVP for the United States Championship at WrestleMania 24?
I posted an update on this in the Premium section earlier in the week. From what I have heard MVP and Matt Hardy will both have spots on the WrestleMania card. The only question remains as to whether they will be given their own singles match or if they will be inserted into the Money in the Bank ladder match. For now we’ll just have to see how it goes as Hardy hasn’t even returned on television yet (I hope that didn’t spoil SmackDown for you).
Do commentators get scripts that they’re supposed to read off or do they “shoot” the whole time?
They have notes of what they are supposed to talk about and how things are supposed to go but I do not believe that there is an actual word-for-word script. Both commentators wear earpieces and there are times when Vince McMahon will come on and tell them to say something. McMahon works more closely with inexperienced guys like Jonathan Coachman. Watch SmackDown tonight and notice how Coachman sounds like he is repeating everything that he is told. It is very annoying.
Why is Ric Flair on the SmackDown roster on WWE? Great site by the
way, I read you every day here in Mexico!
Gracias! We appreciate your support of Wrestling News World in Mexico my friend. Ric Flair was drafted to SmackDown on the June 11th edition of Raw where they held the 2007 WWE Draft. Flair worked a short program with MVP before taking a hiatus from WWE due to problems between him and the company. Flair later returned on Raw with the entire retirement angle where it was determined that he would work on all three brands before he hung up the boots. The Nature Boy will be on SmackDown tonight.
