WWE PG, Orton/DiBiase, Edge, McGuinness-WWE

Written by Richard Gray on Oct 22, 2009 - 12:03:20 PM

Will the WWE PG rating ever go away?

WWE's PG programming is here to stay. Vince McMahon sees it as a sign of the times and is mainly now toning his programming down to get more profitable advertising deals. With the product more family friendly it generates bigger companies with bigger budgets wanting to advertise.

Do you think Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase can pump new life into Raw? Monday was the first time I was excited about Raw since the Shawn Michaels/Chris Jericho feud ended.

I absolutely think Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase can pump new life into Raw. I have been raving about the work they did on Raw all week. DiBiase is going to be a star and what better way to elevate him then to put him against one of the top heels in the business. The crowd was very much behind DiBiase as a babyface. It's going to be a great feud when WWE goes through with it.

Is there a timetable yet for Edge to return?

As far as I know there is no timetable for Edge's return to WWE. His injury is very serious and they do not want to rush anything. Edge is scheduled to be at the FCW show on Friday.

I just read the report on why Nigel McGuinness is now in TNA. That situation notwithstanding, do you think that someday Nigel will become a WWE superstar someday? I thought he was just in FCW until he was called up to the WWE and was shocked to learn that he signed with TNA.

From what I understand Nigel McGuinness failed a pre-screening test to get into WWE. It wasn't anything related to Performance Enhancing Drugs but related to previous injuries. If you remember, Nigel has had several serious injured. He discussed them in detail with me this summer in an interview that you can read at this link. I don't want to rule anything out, but it doesn't appear WWE is in his future because of past injuries.
