WWE TV, Chavo Speaking Out, DX's Future, More
Written by Richard Gray on Sep 24, 2009 - 9:22:27 AM
I have read Vince McMahon wants to make a WWE channel within the next 2 years on cable. Do you think it will be like ESPN and have some sort of in studio shows to give clips and storyline and injury updates? Or will it be like ESPN Classic and WWE On Demand and just have classic shows and matches?
I can only speculate at this point but I think the channel will feature vintage WWE programming and possibly films by WWE Studios. If Vince McMahon is serious about getting it on basic cable I would think he would try to get some reruns of popular drama TV shows to be somewhat like TNT. Vince McMahon has wanted his own network for years so he can eventually move all his programming to it, keep all of the advertising revenue and air in whatever time slots he wants. Everyone in WWE says the company is still committed to their current television contracts but they have to say that because they are under contract.
Why is Chavo Guerrero always talking about his feud with Hornswoggle on Twitter?
Chavo has probably gotten a tremendous amount of negative feedback regarding the program. The Chavo vs. Hornswoggle feud is part of WWE PG and is meant to cater towards the younger audience. I don't think it is smart speaking out on the feud but like I've said before, at least he is on television. There are a lot of people under WWE contracts that would like his spot just to get on TV.
Since Triple H and Shawn Michaels aren't in the WWE title picture right now and since they have never held the Tag team titles with each other, do you see them ever becoming the Unified Tag Team titles before this stint as DX comes to an end?
It depends on which direction WWE wants to take DeGeneration X but I do not look for Triple H and Shawn Michaels to become Unified WWE Tag Team Championship contenders. I would rather see Triple H turn heel and go on to face Shawn at WrestleMania.
What is Eric Bischoff's relationship like with WWE? I think Bischoff would make a good guest host of Raw and I was curious what the chances are that could happen?
Eric Bischoff and Vince McMahon will never be good friends. Everyone was very surprised when McMahon brought Bischoff in the first time and I'm not sure the chances are good he'll ever bring him back. Bischoff has been critical of the WWE product since leaving and didn't make any friends when Hulk Hogan started the rumors he and Bischoff were going to try and compete with WWE. Bischoff also didn't appreciate WWE sending Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake a cease and desist over his name when he was doing the program on CMT. Anything can happen but I would not hold my breath.
