Backstage News On Failed Wellness Tests, RVD’s WWE Return, Reason For Wyatt Family Beatdowns, Long-Term Booking Direction Changed, Storyline Plans For The “Devil,” Talks Continue For A Major Top Name To Work Wrestlemania 30, Who Was Ribbed & Praised At The PPV

- We’re told there was recently a round of Wellness testing conducted and the rumor was there were some positive tests. Whether or not a suspension surfaces is another issue as talent can clear positive tests with valid prescriptions. We were not given names and wouldn’t report them if we were, the only thing of note here is Wellness testing was conducted. Additionally, we heard a number of talents were called in for meetings with Triple H but the details of the meetings were not disclosed. One could assume the meetings had to do with Wellness but that’s mere speculation.

- Rob Van Dam was contacted over the weekend about him returning to WWE. They want him back and are trying to get a new contract in place.

- This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw just wasn’t rewritten but long-term booking plans were changed and/or cut. The Wyatt Family’s attack on CM Punk and Daniel Bryan was to push them away from their respective programs with Paul Heyman and Randy Orton. These programs were blown off at the pay-per-view and WWE is moving forward.

- As for long-term booking plans that were changed, here’s how it involves Kane handing Stephanie McMahon his mask. We’re told this was done to explain why he won’t be going after The Wyatt Family at this point. Bray Wyatt’s line that “the devil” made him do it has Vince McMahon behind the beatings. The new direction is that Triple H can’t handle the dirty work so Vince is handling it through The Wyatt Family. He’s scripted to have “given” Kane to Stephanie to help because Hunter couldn’t “tie up loose ends.” This is a complete 180 from plans last week that had Vince returning as a babyface with Big Show, Hunter to work Daniel Bryan and Punk’s program undecided.

- Dialogue between WWE and Bill Goldberg regarding a potential return for a program at Wrestlemania XXX remains open.

- We’re told Luke Harper was the butt of a lot of jokes backstage at Raw for botching the bodyslam spot at Hell in a Cell.

- Goldust received major praise for his work at the pay-per-view, as he should have. We’re told everyone in the tag title bout was put over heavily but no one to the extent of Goldust, who is seen as to be working on an entirely different level right now.

did Vince Russo come back or something? Because that sounds like something he would pull (Devil Mess)

it was me Daniel bryan! it was me all along!!!…jk so im hoping the end result of this program is punk vs bryan for the title at mania…get a nice little mega powers vibe going…or better yet a hbk vs bret type rivalry going….maybe punk takes it from orton at royal rumble while bryan wins the royal rumble? or vice versa?

Interesting, I have a feeling that Sandow may be one of those who ended up with a positive test which would explain his failed cash in attempt last night on RAW. Just a guess on my part but it wouldn’t surprise me though.

The Wyatt Family attacks on Daniel Bryan & CM Punk was well done last night but I have a hard time following what you explained in that 4th paragraph lol. Like NYYYANKEES just mentioned, that has Vince Russo written all over it lol. Should be interesting to see how all of that plays out. my interest is up for this so good job with the 180 WWE creative.

I’ll pass on Goldberg, Dude is 47 and hasn’t wrestled a match in a decade. Dude is a massive douche in real life as well who craps on the very business that made him rich & famous. So as far as I’m concerned he doesn’t deserve another match at Mania. His 1st run in the WWE was a major flop as well in the ring and in th ratings so why bring him back again. If they induct him into the Hall Of Fame I’d be cool with that but as far as another match I’ll pass.

Some may disagree, but Goldust as been by far the comeback story of the last five years. Nobody saw this coming. Dude is out working not only everyone in th tag division but possibly everyone on the roster right now. He has been lights out ever since he was brought back. He deserves a match with Cody at Mania after all the effort he’s put into the WWE over the past few months.

Honestly I hope that’s not the case for Sandow, and it’s all part of a bigger picture for him. The one reason I feel he didn’t is cause why would they allow him to look great in that match if he tested positive, they would’ve completely humbled him and let cena bury him worse then what he did, it would’ve been more along the burial that punk gave Ryback

Well if RAW is going up against Monday Night Football & The World Series then a squash match wouldn’t be enough to keep viewers from turning the channel. That could be the reason for the long match maybe.

        • Cubed56

Possibly, but I highly doubt it. If Vince and creative had the confidence to give him the case in the first place, and he slaps them in the face by violating the wellness policy, u know damn well he wouldn’t have been made to look as good as he did last night even in defeat.

Who knows. I’m not saying for sure it’s him but it wouldn’t surprise me. Keep in my mind though that Jeff Hardy failed the test twice before going on to win the title a few times. I guess it just all depends on how high Vince is on you. Personally, I would of put Sandow over last night myself. Aside from the outcome what did you think of the match?

          • Cubed56

Aside from the outcome, I thought it was an excellent match. Sandow showed he can work with the top guys in the company, and honestly even though he lost, I think Sandow looks stronger then he did when he came into the match. This is why I hope its just all to see if Sandow can work in the top of the card and not for a wellness violation.

I hope so too, I love his gimmick. I’ve said from the beginning that Sandow is a throwback heel from the 80s/early 90s. I wanna see more of Cena/Sandow.

Looked to me like Rybread came back positive. Rybread was treated like jobber-to-the-stars-era “Iron” Mike Sharpe. He couldn’t have been less unremarkable, he got in almost no offense, and Punk didn’t even need GTS to win. He was totally shamed and I’d be quite surprised if it wasn’t because he came back dirty. Sandow may have simply just been a victim of the “anything can happen” initiative. He picked an absolutely awful time to cash in when other opportunities had been more ripe.

Possibly the reason why Damien Sandow lost his match on RAW a possible wellness policy.

Quite frankly the whole Wyatt Family angle is confusing to me i dont understand it to be very honest.

The 180 turn by Vince now coming back as heel i am aganist I feel like there are too many heels in this angle now and it has zapped out the energy in this storyline

So basically creative is resurrecting the Corporate Ministry. Great. We all remember how well that worked. I made a joke a couple months back about everything being orchestrated by Vince (“It’s me Bryan! It was me all along!”) but it was just a joke. It wasn’t SUPPOSED to happen.
Hmmmmm…..Maybe since Jake the Snake is doing well and pushing for one last appearance they can sign him to a short run where he shows up just a few mondays as the Higher Power he was supposed to be. Still that environment might be too much for him, I’d rather he stayed sober.

Ok I think that we will have Goldberg, Hulk, Ultimate Warrior and anyone else on 2k14, I think WWE had it inked before the game even came out same as Lesnar in the game afew years ago. I honestly believe that as WWE are at the height of the industry and could easily keep secrets they wanted kept as we have seen in the past
